  I've been playing since the early 70's and have used numerous fuzz, distortion and OD units. Most have been somewhat of a disappointment and were quickly relegated to the closet, because (being a tone snob)having great sound is of utmost importance to me. The Big Muff with Tone Wicker, however, earned an immediate spot on my pedal board. This unit is the most versatile fuzz/distortion I have ever used. If you want the classic Muff sound, you can get it. By using the Tone Wicker, you can add high more high end when you're using the tone control to get a low boost. I use tube amps exclusively and run have an Fulltone OCD set to run into the Big Muff. When running into the clean channel, in combination with the OCD, I can get every sound from David Gilmore, to Vintage ZZ Top (think LaGrange), to the singing highs and "clean fuzz" of The Eagles. Surprisingly, I can even get an acceptable Carols Santana sound. When used with the OD channel, I can push the tones into various realms of Metal. My recommendation for getting good tone though, is to go really easy on the sustain. I never run the sustain above 10 o'clock and get everything I need plus. I also keep the pedal volume quite low. Use this pedal properly, discretion and you will be VERY happy!

  This Big Muff is yet another great incarnation of the original Muff. The tone switch basically let's you boost the volume beyond anyone's average needs, while the wicker adds a slight treble to the river of fuzz coming out of your amp. You can get tone like The Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripe, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Band of Skulls, etc. from this one small, versatile Muff.

  Traditional Big Muff fuzz tones are still there for that classic grind but waittheres more. Integrating a unique design, the Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker gives you a three way tone wicker switch. One setting is off, one setting gives you a slight treble boost, and one setting gives you an extreme treble boost for nasty fuzz grind. The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker also gives you the option of bypassing the tone control for a big volume boost and a more full range response. The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker is the most versatile Big Muff out there.
