    This Big Muff is yet another great incarnation of the original Muff. The tone switch basically let's you boost the volume beyond anyone's average needs, while the wicker adds a slight treble to the river of fuzz coming out of your amp. You can get tone like The Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripe, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Band of Skulls, etc. from this one small, versatile Muff.

    Traditional Big Muff fuzz tones are still there for that classic grind but waittheres more. Integrating a unique design, the Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker gives you a three way tone wicker switch. One setting is off, one setting gives you a slight treble boost, and one setting gives you an extreme treble boost for nasty fuzz grind. The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker also gives you the option of bypassing the tone control for a big volume boost and a more full range response. The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker is the most versatile Big Muff out there.

    A little less than a year ago I let my Big Muff Pi (NY Reissue) go and had regretted it ever since. I saw a good deal on this pedal used and snatched it up. Ever since I've been super happy and only have good things to say about it. This Muff is a great variant on the original re-issue. It has tones of tonal variety plus the same Big Muff sound you are accustomed to. You can hit the tones of Gilmour, Smashing Pumpkins, Jack White, and John Frusciante. With the tone off and wicker off you get the Big Muff sound as you'd expect. If you flip up the Wicker switch you get some nice high end sheen that livens up the sound and helps cut through the mix. If you switch the tone on it now essentially works as an EQ. At 7 o'clock you get a bass heavy fuzz more like Russian and at 5 o'clock you get a high end fuzzstortion that really stands out. I recently bought a 5E3 Deluxe clone and was disappointed when my Big Muff didn't play well with it. The amp itself is bassy so the regular muff settings just didn't sound all that great. Flipped up the tone switch and now it evens out and sings. If you are looking for a great Muff, Fuzz, Distortion, whatever sound in that category this Muff will hit it.
