      Electro-Harmonix Tone Tattoo Multi-Effects Guitar Pedal (H84534)
Availability:

The first true multi-effect from Electro-Harmonix.

The Tone Tattoo analog multi-effects guitar pedal from Electro-Harmonix is a fully interactive multi-effects pedal. The Tone Tattoo combines three of the most popular guitar effects, distortion, chorus and delay, into one small and convenient package. Satisfy your tone jones with a chain that pulls from some of EHX’s best-selling effects, including the Metal Muff, Neo Clone and Memory Toy.

The effects in the Tone Tattoo are completely independent from each other. Three separate footswitches, one for each section, allow for individual control over which effect is on or off. Each effect has its own dedicated knobs and switches, all of which are tweakable at any moment; there are no menus to scroll through or dual function knobs.

Using the Tone Tattoo is like having three separate effects pedals on your pedalboard, but without the need for the additional cables or separate power supplies, all put into a single medium-sized pedal. Get crushing lead and rhythm tones, as well as full tone sculpting, including two levels of scoop.

Electro-Harmonix Tone Tattoo Multi-Effects Guitar Pedal Features:

  • Gate Threshold, Volume, Drive, Bass and Treble knobs (Metal Muff section)
    Scoop switch (Metal Muff section)
    Gate button (Metal Muff section)
    Rate knob (Neo Cone section)
    Depth button (Neo Cone section)
Delay, Feedback, Blend and Gain knobs (Memory Toy section)
Each effect section has its own independent footswitch
New noise gate means minimal noise.

  • A Stroke Of Genius!

As reviewed by David Sisk _ on 11/3/2012

First off - nothing gets 5 stars until it proves its got the stuff in the long term. That being said - this thing is like a dream come true. Ironically, I was in the hunt for 1)a distortion/overdrive pedal, b) a chorus - SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of coupling WITH the distortion, and c) a delay pedal. You know where I'm going with this, don't you? Timing is everything, as this recently-introduced answer to my "dilemma" has been solved in one convenient, simple to use package. Its essentially "4" pedals in one, if you count the noise gate ability. The chorus range provides (among other things) a rich, subtle, almost dark sounding characteristic I've been looking for, as opposed to an overly ringy/chimey, annoyingly sharp-sounding one. While the Metal Muff segment wouldn't have been my first choice for a distortion, it has enough of a range of adjustability to dial it back, taking most of the "death" out of the "metal" - I can definitely live with it. Overall, I hope this "combo" arrangement for ANALOG pedals sets some sort of a trend in the industry.

Why not five stars? Well, it has not passed the endurance test yet. Not until it performs perfectly for one year will it get that last star. But that being said, the genius who created this marvelous machine should be awarded the Nobel Prize For Kick A$$ Tone (a new category)The Metal Muff has all the gain needed for any metal, but when the knob turns to the left, you get the Big Muff pedal! The chorus and delay are just lush and warm. The noise gate is a little secret mojo that makes it all nice and quiet. Not really needed unless you really crank the gain and volume thru a Strat! Anyways, there is no better trifecta of tone than this. This thing is so much fun!

I was looking for a combo pedal to take to jams and rehearsal rather than lugging my whole pedalboard. I tried the Golden Cello but it was horrible. I got this pedal took it to rehearsal. Lush chorus, great delay and more distortion than I can use and it's quite!! Didn't have to use the gate. Great pedal!!!
