Product Information

An easy way to drop from E to D and back without unclamping!

The Eddie Van Halen D-Tuna is a drop D tuning system designed to adapt to a double-locking tremolo such as a Floyd Rose or Floyd Rose-licensed trem. A low-profile, double-locking tremolo may require modification. The EVH D-Tuna attaches to the low-E string saddle-locking screw. Once in place and set, all you do is slide the mechanism — in for E, out for D.

GREASTEST ROCK N ROLL INVENTION EVER

The EVH D-Tuna Drop-D system is sweet! The only work done is a simple movement of your finger, flicking the pin on this thing! Makes you wonder why no one cracked up this idea earlier (back in the 5150 days). Anyone who has a Floyd will know that tuning is a real back-pain in terms of tuning your axe. Eddie has a brilliant imagination, on and off the fretboard.

Awsome Invention!!!

If you have a Floyd Rose and always have a pain tuning it down to D, this is for you!! I always use it and it helps SOO much. With the flick of a switch, you are down to D!!! the only thing you have to have is a NON-FLOATING Bridge. If it is Foating, It will bring All Your stings out of tune!

What a great tool!

The D-Tuna does exactly what it says it will do. On a blocked Floyd (won't work on a floating trem) it detunes your low E string with a flick of your finger. No worries about being out of tune once you get there. It's reliable and so easy you wonder why someone didn't come up with it sooner. Anyone with a Floyd knows how limited your options are when it comes to detuning on the fly. This absolutely solves that problem. Follow the setup directions every time you restring and there's literally nothing that can go wrong.

Drop D Tuna

This item is essential for all metalheads with floyd roses who want to tune drop d in a second. Instead of having to spend precious time finding an allen wrench, loosening the nut, tuning, and then tightening the nut back up, you can simply pull the pin(by the bridge) and youre tuned drop d.It is very handy and everyone that has a floyd rose knows tuning the guitar anything other than standard tuning is a hassle without the drop d tuna. Get it.

For those who need to know the real story

The EVH D-Tuna tuning system can be, and I mean can be, used with both non-floating and floating Floyd Rose style bridges. Enclosed in the instructions for installation are 2 productslisted for use on a floating tremolo bridge. One is the WD Tremolo Stabilizer, which is a bar that goes directly inside the spring under the low 'E' string used for drop 'D' tuning. This bar stabilizes between the bridge block and claw. The second product is the Hip Shot Tremolo Setter. This product stabilizes the block and is a little more complicated to deal with. It will stop the bridge from pulling back when the tension is lessened in the drop 'D' tuning. One other important factor when using this product is the fine tuner on what we call the "flip clip". This is the polished round piece used for going between 'E' and drop 'D' tunings. On the side is a little Allen key screw. This is a fine tuner when the string is in the drop 'D' tuning. When going between 'E' and drop 'D', the tension on the string can slightly throw off the your tuning. It could be sharp or flat, but with this screw you can adjust the tension ever so slightly to match tunings in both notes. You want to adjust this screw when in drop 'D', due to the fact that most guitars will be in tune for 'E' 440. For some this info may be a little overwhelming, but read the installation instructions thoroughly, may be 2 or 3 times, to understand the principles of how this product works in relation to your guitar. I've had first hand experience installing and using this product with many notable artists, but would like to mention that without the help of Adam Reiver, director of marketing for Floyd Rose, and co-inventor of the D-Tuna,I could not supply this info to all of you. It's a great system for all of you that have bridges of this sort, and from a tech's stand point, a lifesaver for on the fly drop tuning.
