  • Perfect Sound

As reviewed by Jonny on 12/6/2007

So like pretty much every other fan of classic or psychedelic rock I needed some wah. So I researched and tested like mad for a couple weeks. Went to the different guitar shops around town and tested every wah pedal they had. I had originally leaned towards an autowah ruled those out quickly because of the lack of control over the sound. Eventually I settled on the Dunlops. They were all good but the original didn't quite do it and the Slash wah had to much other stuff on it. I had a good amp and distortion pedal so all I needed was a good wah pedal. Then I tried the Fasel. The heavens opened, angels sang, and doves flew overhead dopping pure gold guitar picks all across the land. But back in the store I'd found my pedal. It has such a perfect vintage sound and a really broad expression range. The tone didn't have dead spots at all when the pedal was rocked back and forth like I noticed with a few other pedals. The Crybaby w/ Fasel is my favorite pedal and I use it in almost every song. It's great, when you pair it with heavy distortion you can get real hard rock metal screams and when using a clean amp and a little palm muting you can play all the old funk music. You know...the giggity-giggity kind. Great pedal. Perfect sound. 5/5

  • The best bang for the buck!

As reviewed by stratman09 on 7/3/2009

I received this pedal last year for Christmas and simply fell in love with it. I have tried other wah pedals including a Vox wah (which is great mind you, but only for a lighter sound.) This pedal is great for anything from Guns n Roses to Zeppelin. I recently purchased a Line 6 floorpod plus, and used that wah for a while- this was a huge mistake. I use this pedal in combination with the floor pod plus and it sounds amazing through my 70s fender pro reverb. If you are looking for a "no bull crap" wah pedal, I seriously recommend this rugged beast!

  • Durability and Versatility

As reviewed by gtlassiter on 10/18/2006

The Dunlop Crybaby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal is a very durable, dependable pedal and a must have for any serious showman. It's a classic wah pedal sound and the construction is such that you could probably roll a car over the pedal and it would still work! The pedal is smooth and opens up nicely. There are only two problems that I have experienced. First is that the on/off switch can be difficult to depress, particularly if the pedal is placed on anything other than a hard floor, such as a rug or carpet. Second, the pedal eats up the nine volt battery in it in no time. Part of this is because there is no indicator light to show that the pedal is using power. Overall, a great piece of equipment to add to your lineup of pedals.
