When DigiTech developed the PDS 8000 looper pedal over 20 years ago, it looped 8 seconds of audio. When DigiTech reinvented loopers in 2005 with the original JamMan®, over 6 hours worth of material could be stored on a removable media card. Now, DigiTech® has raised the bar with the new JamMan Stereo Looper with the ability to store 35 minutes of CD-quality loops in 99 internal memories as well as having an SD memory card expansion slot giving you the ability to store over 16* hours of material in an additional 99 slots.
The JamMan Stereo also features true stereo looping, reverse playback, and a mic input making it perfect for backing tracks or DJ applications.
The JamMan Stereo features USB connectivity and will sync to DigiTech's free JamManager™ software that organizes and saves your JamMan Stereo loops to PC or Mac. JamManager also lets you quickly create custom JamLists to take to your gig.
The JamMan Stereo also feature a 1/4" Rhythm Output jack to send to your monitor, keep the rest of the band in sync.

this is a solid unit. The guy complaining that the clean sound turns distorted also says that happens when he "plugs into the distorion channel", which leads me to believe he is physically plugging into the other channel on the amp. Of course a clean tone will turn distorted in that situation! You need to stay on the clean channel and distort with pedals after the looper - then there is no problem!
My first looper, but did my homework. Learning curve: 1 hour to reasonably dub lead over dubbed rhythm guitar over drum/rhythm guide track. 3 more hours to take free internet backing tracks through iTunes to the Jamman Stereo and playing lead over it. The most time was spent learning how to convert backing tracks to iTunes files to .wav files, which is a computer issue. People need to understand that you need all of your effects before the looper and always run a clean amp, otherwise your drum, clean guitar, keyboard and bass tracks will get distorted and/or reverbed by your amp as well. Also, if you want to change tracks on the fly, other single and dual pedal loopers require additional expensive switch pedals that this unit already has built in!!! FANTASTIC!! (although wimpy guide track sounds and no power switch is a bummer) P.S. A free downloadable software upgrade (about 1 minute) was prompted, so maybe this solved earlier reviewers; software criticisms, because it seems easy to me and works well.
I can't say much more that hasn't already been said about this fantastic pedal. The only "downside" is that its power source is plug-in only (no battery) but for me that's really not an issue. As for the one review that complains about not being able to play distortion over clean, you actually can: you just have to put your distortion pedal (or whatever effect pedal) BEFORE the looper in your chain. Then it works great. And, unlike the video posted on this site says, it DOES come with instructions. Easy to use, decent price, well worth it.
