A value for any Tone Hound.

It's so nice to be an old rocker in this day and age. I've been playing since 1963 and the world just keeps getting better and better when it comes to affordable gear for the musician. This DeltaLab DD1 Delay pedal can be compaired to delays twice the price and sounds just as great. Even better than that, DeltaLabs keeps it simple and doesn't add any extra bells and whistles. It simply gives you a clean, rich delay that is easy to adjust to anything from Carl Perkins to Pink Floyd. Looks like a keeper.

DD1=Dead Delay

Was looking for a simple delay for a "slapback" effect. The one @ GC sounded very good, controls straightforward and the price was right(Too right.) First one I brought home had several letters peeling of the unit(check your pedals before bringing them home.) Returned it for another unit that looked clean but just died after about an hour of use, returned it but had to upgrade. E-mails to the company fell on deaf ears. When I took the second unit back, I asked the salesperson if they had had ongoing trouble with these stompboxes and she said "the multi-effects units seem pretty good but with the stompboxes you kinda get what you pay for." Too true.

    The sound and ability's of this pedal are great for the price. HOWEVER my first one broke the second day I got it and then it's replacement also broke the next day because of pinched wires. If you get a working pedal it deserves 5 stars. If not, don't bother looking for a working one. This delay does work great for Blues, Rock, and soloing. It mimics classic delay sounds from Tony Iommi, The Edge, and others. The knobs make it very easy to change the settings, helpful if you need two different delays for a gig. Overall great pedal, but built to poor standards.

    Picked up this pedal about a week ago, was a little hesitant but basically paid nothin for it because of trading in some old gear, got it home and started playing around with it, is it the best delay you can buy? NO, but is it the best delay you can get for 1/3 of the price of the others on the market, hand down, very impressed by it, and all deltalab stompboxes i have used, would highly recommend for anyone on a budget looking to add to their sound.

    This is a great pedal. The delay time isn't that long but is just long enough for some Gilmour type delays. The only complaint is that it eats batteries. I use a one spot which keeps it happy. Alot of people have been complaining that after a while of playing that the light dims and teh delay doesn't work. That's part of the pedal, it's letting you know that it's time to replace the battery or get a 9 volt, they're better for the enviroment and cheaper! I'd reccomend this to anyone, and everyone it opens a door of tonal exploration.

  • Could have done better.

    The dd-1 really disappointed me. The delay is not loud enough, the time could have been better, and the delay doesn't have that depth and mellowness in the sound. I also wished that they put a tap tempo function instead of constantly configuring the time.

  • RIP DD-1- You shall be avenged

    I loved my DD-1. It did everything I ever asked it to, and fit my needs perfectly. The only reason mine broke (because, these things are surprisingly durable) is because my sister threw my guitar case (With guitar and several pedals in it) at me. The way it landed, the body of the guitar sheered off the switch. If I can't fix it, it will be replaced with another DD-1

  • Awesome, must buy

    I got this about 2 years ago, and it is still working perfectly. Great quality noise. Use it through Gibson es-339 to marshal combo amp, and it gives a great tone. I also use it with a Deltalab tube overdrive pedal and it sounds great. It sounds much better with your guitar plugged right into the delay, and then going into one more pedal. If you are using more 3+ pedals than experiment. Different orders make different sound. Definitely take advantage of the price. This is a great pedal. The saying "you get what you pay for doesn't apply to this." With this you get way more than what you paid for.
