Shocking - Dean makes metal guitars?

If you look at Dean's endorsed artists and their electrics - it's screaming metal. So, naturally when I was sitting in GC and trying acoustic after acoustic - the Dean just didn't appeal to me. After consulting with a GC "expert" who tried to get me to play a Seagull (which was alright, but twice the price and ugly as sin) ---- I finally went over to the flashy woodgrain ash-bodied oddball. WOW - just wow - I've owned this guitar for 3 and a half years, and it sounds as beautiful as ever. The workmanship is astounding. The tuners are top notch, the resonance is only getting better with age, and I can't for the life of me find a flaw. This is NOT a 2 thousand dollar Martin or Taylor - and you can tell --- if your ear is trained well. Not knowing the price tag - a few friends have tried it out and guessed that I paid anywhere between 600 and 900 for it. I think Dean has a diamond in the rough, and have actually seen a bunch of working musicians with Dean acoustics lately. I don't remember if there was a sale, but I go mine in summer of '08 for $300. Get in on it before Dean realizes what they have and they price these things appropriately.
Absolutely Wonderful

After spending almost a year playing a lower end Cort acoustic, I felt it was time to get something of a higher caliber. After weeks of research, I had several different guitars written down as possibilities. Once I got to Guitar Center and sat down with each one, the Exotica won out. Compared to all the other guitars I played, the Ibanez's, the Epiphone's, and even some other Dean's, this guitar was hands down the best one for the price range. The sound is absolutely amazing for a guitar of this price, I wouldn't say it sounds as good as the Martin that one of my friends has, but it is certainly close. The pictures you see online simply don't do this guitar justice. It is absolutely beautiful. The quilted ash has a very unique looking woodgrain that really stands out. The bronze pearl trim around the body and neck is a very nice touch as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone who's looking for a high quality instrument without the high quality price.
Beautiful Instrument

I started writing music with my fiance on my electric instruments and had an acoustic guitar at one point in time but it was destroyed... So she told me to go get another acoustic but just keep it cheap for now. So I went down to guitar center looking for a $100 guitar and made the mistake of just letting this one catch my eye... I pulled it off the wall and started playing it and immediately felt glue start to build up in my hands which then would not let the guitar leave my death grip... Beautiful looking instrument and whatever word you choose to use that means more than beautiful... you can apply that to the sound of this guitar. Get it get it get it get it...

I tried this guitar at my local shop. I was in the market for some new gear. OH MY GOSH I feel in love. Not only is this guitar visually stunning, with the mahogany neck and quilted ash, it also has KILLER tone. If you like that loud but bright (not muffled-ish tone) then this is perfect for you. If you play soft, it sounds amazing for warm tones. I asked a Guitar Center rep what he recommended. He told me a Martin or Taylor. Neither came close to comparing to this. Needless to say, I'm buying this guitar in about a week. For the price, this is a RIDICULOUS steal. This thing feels so amazing to play. It feels like a nice easy on the fingers electric guitar. (which is where the Martin and Taylor failed) BUY ONE RIGHT NOW! (not joking) haha.

I was looking for an acoustic guitar for my daughters' first, and found this one. I checked quite a few and was suprised initially on the price and looks. It's a very unique looking guitar very cool, natural, and with an edgy look as well. Once i played it I loved it, the action on ours is very good for a beginner and it playes as well as guitars 3 times the price, and another great feature for a beginner was the built in tuner. Best of all was the sound! It has a great tone and resonance, would higly reccomend it over many others I've played. I'm going to get rid of my much higher priced Ovation and Epiphone and replace it with another one for me. Good job Dean I was suprised!
