The Boss GE-7 Equalizer Pedal provides 7 bands of EQ in the optimum range for guitar. It provides 15dB of either cut or boost in each selected range.
This is an often over used expression but this pedal truly deserves it. It can get you any sound from warm acoustic to heavy rock n' roll. It is a 7 band EQ that takes guitar playing to new levels. The "knobs" are very sensitive and aren't just on or off. I can crank out any Wolfmother song with ease using only this pedal. I have tried it with different amps and it defines your sound greatly. It helps smooth it out and can give a rich tone while still rockin' out. BUY THIS!!

The Boss GE-7 is probably not the first pedal you want to buy. Rather, it is a great tool to add a finished gloss to the various sounds you can make when you've got a couple of other pedals. I couple it with the Metal Zone MT-2 to create a massive, heavy sound. With a good overdrive pedal the GE-7 can clean out the noise to focus your sound for clear-as-a-bell leads. It can also add highlight to your Chorus, Flanging or Envelope effects. Accoustic or Clean? It can give you a beautiful rich texture not possible with a straight guitar to amp connection. I love what it does, but I have a couple complaints. First, I wish the sliders had more throw. In a darkened stage situation, you would have trouble adjusting its tiny levers. Second, while it has that great BOSS quality of construction and sound, it is EXPENSIVE considering it doesn't do anything radical to your sound. Still, for an advanced player, it is an invaluable tool to add the finishing touch to your sound. I personally love it and wouldn't want to be without it.

The Boss GE-7 Graphic Equalizer offers seven bands of equalization in a compact, durable, package featuring low noise operation and silent switching. Seven bands of EQ are optimized for guitar, with up to 15db of cut/boost at the following frequency centers; 100hz, 200hz, 400hz, 800hz, 1.6khz, 3.2khz, and 6.4khz. There is also a level control for cutting, boosting, or equalizing the effected with the unaffected signal. I use it to fatten and boost my leads, ?scoop? the mids and boost the highs/lows for Modern Metal, tighten up a flabby clean sound for cutting through a mix, and to isolate and reduce feedback. Placing the GE-7 before an overdrive or distortion pedal allows you to actually shape and change the overall character of the OD/distortion. Placing the GE-7 after OD/distortion allows you to accentuate or cut specific frequencies and color your sound without radically altering the basic character of your overdrive. For ultimate tonal versatility, try using two GE-7?s. Place the first in front of your OD/dist pedal. Set the 100hz bass slider for a 9 db cut, because bass frequencies tend to distort disproportionately, producing a muddy or flabby sound. Also try setting the 200 hz slider for about a 5 db cut, especially if you are hearing a ?boxy? sound. Next, try boosting the pre-distortion mids to taste at 800hz for a crunchy, biting attack. Finally, set up the second GE-7 after your distortion unit. Bring the bass back up or even boost it a bit (try about 12 db of boost). Adding post-distortion Bass results in a tight, powerful sound. Add additional highs if desired. This is guaranteed to produce an absolutely crushing crunchy overdrive or a rich 80?s style Metal sound.

This pedal is an absolute hands down MUST HAVE! If you are pickey about your tone then your pedal collection is not complete without the GE-7. I utilize a huge number of effects when I play which has a tendancy to effect the signal tone. The Graphic eq pedal fixes all this! I use it directly after my boss MT-2 in the chain to give me a much thicker disortion that will pretty much melt your face off. If you have the cash this pedal is where its at.

Boss GE7 built as strong as every other Boss unit and works great. Very easy to use and emphasizes only the key frequencies you would use as a guitarist. I put it in my effects loop of my rack to add mid range to my pre amp. Very reliable and sounds great. Also makes a great distortion boost when you put the level up and slam it in front of a distortion pedal.
