Awesome Momentary Pedal!
I grabbed the Boss FS-5U Footswitch for use with my Boss BR-900CD, and it rocks! The compact metal casing and rubber bottom is very sturdy! The switch itself is made of plastic, but is still better than the Roland DP-2 that I was considering. I had also considered the Boss FS-6 dual pedal, but that model requires batteries or an AC adapter. The FS-5U requires neither, only needing a single 1/4" TS (mono) cable. The various foot switches that Boss makes can attach to the sides of one another, which is very convenient! However, this does create some sharp metal edges that can scratch other gear, so store it carefully. This is an excellent nonlatching footswitch, and I highly recommend it!

Boss FS-5U
I wish I had twenty of these things, they are really handy. For your keyboards, effects, amp switching, drum machines, recording start/stop & punch in, etc. With polarity switch, I haven't found a device yet that takes a footswitch that the Boss FS-5U couldn't activate. It is solid, quite and out of five I have never killed one yet.

Nice Pedal, But Pricey & Sharp Edges
The polarity switching makes this the most versatile footswitch around. However, it would have been great if it could also function as a latching footswitch. Instead you have to purchase a FS-5L to do that. All of these FS footswitches interconnect, which is very cool. However, the cords cannot be bussed so you will have a separate cord for each switch. Also the aluminum edges are sharp and will make quick work of your gig bag if you travel with it.

Many uses!
The Boss FS-5U Footswitch is a very nice item. It is sturdy and well built. The pedal is very responsive. The one problem is that there is no indicator light that says if it is on or off. This can be a problem if you are having difficulty hearing your guitar while playing live. I bought it for a Cube 60 amp but have found it quite useful with my Jazz Chorus and as a keyboard pedal. I have had it for well over 2 years and it still looks and works like I just took it out of the box. A very nice footswitch and well worth the money.

No more knob fuss!
I love the Boss FS-5U unlatching footswitch! I own two Boss DD-5 delay pedals and I use the FS-5U on one of them to use the external tap tempo feature. While the DD-6 has a built-in tap tempo, the DD-5 also allows you to set the pace of your delay signal! It's a really cool feature and I love not having to bend down to turn delay time knobs anymore. I can't wait to use an FS-5U on the upcoming Boss RC-2 loop station to set the tempo of my loops. This is quite a useful tool.
