if you play bass or guitar-buy it!

Here's why you should buy this, period! OK it's expensive, but...This is so much more than a "drum machine." It has over 1000 patterns-extensive and superior quality blues, rock, jazz, etc patterns, plus it's so easy to make your own grooves. But, what I like is the bass and guitar accompany. The Boss DR-880 gives you key, chord, and progression on the screen as you go. This is without question the best training tool I have ever seen. All those patterns and you can play key, chord, tempo. Its like having a bass player, drummer, and teacher all in one. You have to check this out. It's a hint into the future.

Wow great stuff

I've had this drum machine for about a year now, and not once has it had problems, complications. If you are a bass player like me you will find that this works great to get a good feel of rhythm, because it has a guitar and or bass input. Plus if you are also a recording engineer, you will find that it has midi ports so it works well as a controller for your studio too. You will however have to assign you instruments to each individual pad, and it has around 500 user tracks, u can delete, edit, compose those tracks. You can also take a premade track and change it and save it to your user space. One last thing when u play on one of the premade tracks it diplays the chords and note us should play. Oh but wait you will find it has lots of nice samples, and bass sounds and drum sounds to compose tracks. So buy it and enjoy!

alex pinoy

the first day i got this ,i was able to do songs right away.(for a couple of hours maybe). The Ez compose is very usefull .I do it for basic pattern and then modify it using the real time recording, save a lot of time instead of doing the pattern from scratch. Also i can copy the pre-set pattern and modify it, and save it to user pattern. It also quantize your beat during real time recording and it saves time instead of quantizing it after recording. This box is a very good tool for making music. The only thing that i was looking for is the Undo button evrytime i made a mistake.lol. A little bit pricey but it's worth it. NIce guitar fx too .(any reason why i like this) PADS are kinda small but i'm happy with this.

Great machine, great sounds

I use mine at least 30 minutes a day. Great sounding and great to use live with all the pedal controls via the optional footswitches. It is probably the funnest device you can buy. I've had mine around 8 months now. After you get the drill down it is easy to use. People, musicians and non-musicians alike comment on how the great sounds are. All this things needs is a PC based editor and the ability to write patches to memory a little faster and it'd be just perfect.

U Should Own One At Least Once In Your Life

Great machine, has a lot of features but could use a few more useful ones, also four more analog outputs would be great. User friendly. Best machine I have ever had in it's class. The quality of the unit and the sound is excellent, that is what makes the hefty price tag worth it.
