Looked a long time to find a simple device that didn't have an annoying electronic click or beep. This device is expensive but probably still worth it if you practice a lot. Small and lightweight, adjustable volume, lots of beat and rhythm options. Great for practicing scales, etc. Battery life is great. If it had a built in tuner it would be 5 stars. It can output a tone at given frequency, but I haven't found that feature all that useful since the tone isn't very pure. I still reach for my tuner for fast re-tune.
This is a great starter metronome. Easy to use, very easy to get started with it. It works, right out of the box! For fist timers, I'd really suggest the Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat.
