Overview

Behringer's EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 500W active subwoofer provides the ultimate in low-frequency reproduction, and the built-in stereo crossover makes it ideally suited for use with any of their active 2-way loudspeakers. Packed with a powerful 500W Class-D amplifier, 15" long-excursion Low-Frequency (LF) transducer and an incredible array of professional features, the B1200D-PRO produces extreme levels of low-end punch, with the definition and clarity typically reserved for much larger systems!

Put simply, these cool-running systems are much lighter, making them ultra-easy to transport and set up “ and our no-compromise design means you get amazingly-deep, chest-pounding bass that will keep the party going all night long.

Class-D - Massive Power, Perfect Sound
Thanks to Behringer's revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology, they are able to provide you with enormous power and incredible sonic performance in an easy-to-use, ultra-portable and lightweight package. Class-D amplification makes all the difference, offering the ultimate in energy efficiency and eliminating the need for heavy power supplies and massive heat sinks. This amazing technology makes it possible to design and build extremely powerful products that are significantly lighter in weight than their traditional counterparts, while using less energy and protecting the environment.

Custom-Engineered Transducers
Powerful, high-efficiency Class-D amplifiers and Switch Mode Power Supply technology coupled with state-of-the-art DSP functionality sure sounds impressive “ but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Behringer never cuts corners on their transducers (woofers and tweeters). Their LF transducers are designed specifically for each application. When you buy a BEHRINGER active subwoofer, you can rest assured that the transducer inside has been engineered to perform flawlessly with every other element for truly professional results. The B1200D-PRO active subwoofer is capable of extremely high sound pressure levels: 122 dB (Full Space, 1 W @ 1 m), with a frequency range of 45 - 180 Hz.

Take Control
The B1200D-PRO features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR Thru jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A Boost Frequency knob targets a boost frequency between 45Hz and 90Hz. Flick the Boost switch to give your selected frequency a +10 dB boost. The B1200D- PRO also has a High Cut dial that provides precision control over the upper-corner frequency of the subwoofer' amplifier. The High Cut dial does not affect the Thru signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the Output socket signals sent out to full-range speakers). A Level knob controls the input gain, and the Phase switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present and input overloads.

Features
  • High-performance 500W powered subwoofer for PA applications
  • Powerful 12'' long-excursion transducer with high temperature voice coil
  • Precise reproduction of ultra-low frequencies
  • State-of-the-art 500W Class-D amplifier with comprehensive over-excursion

We use this with our small dj setup we paired it a set with harbinger vari 2112 and it adds a decent amount of low end and sounds good. It not chest thumping bass but gives good low end fill Great set up for small venues 50 or less I would say. Can't beat it at this price point. My only gripe is the low end boost is virtually useless turning it on causes it to clip and shut down at any decent volume even with it set at 0 (unity) or a little less which is where I normally run it

This sub is good for home use and MAYBE events with less than 40 people. Figured i'd give this one a shot at a 115 person sweet 16, and it was a no go. Brought the 18 out of the van. You could probably pull small events off if you picked up two of these. Other than that, i would look elsewhere.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

I bought this system because it was the most bang for the buck. It can't compare to some of the larger subs but it takes a load off my full range speakers. With a some what loud R&B band I find that you don't realize how much they add until you hear your system with them and then with out them.

Using this for a duo (Guitars, bass, backing tracks) with two Samson XP115a powered tops and a Mackie mixer. We added this to get more fullness, low-end punch, and taking some stress off the tops. The result has been great...I especially love the built-in crossover...a money saver. It has meshed seamlessly with the tops and we can still fit all of our equipment in the back of a Ford Focus and get a great sound. I've no regrets on this purchase.

I bought this for my home practice studio. I use a Behringer PMP4000 mixing board/amp ran thru peavey pr15 speakers and this and running thru the mono output. Sounds great.. it's not the chest thumping pounding but a decent clean sounding thump. After setting it up I don't use a seperate bass amp and speaker.it loud enough to rattle a house, but very cost effective.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

I got one of these subs to use with two existing Behringer 12" mains in a medium size room for an evening church service running acoustic guitar, vocals, limited percussion, and miked speaking. The sub really fills in the lower ranges, especially the lower range of the guitar. We got multiple positive comments from the crowd after the first use. Being a church service we are not pushing the volume limit on the units, but when we have turned it up it does add some punch to the room. It has worked so well we are going to get a second unit to pair one each with each main. A very nice and compact unit for small venues at an attractive price. May be a little on the small side for large venue, high volume/power use.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

This product so far has worked perfect. We use it at our church, which is an A frame building that holds 130 people, and it is plenty powerful for our size room. We may add a second one to the other side of the stage in the future, but it doesn't really need it. The sub was easy to hook up especially because it is powered, and has an automatic crossover, so there is no need to have a separate send for the sub. All you do is plug it in off your main, turn the dials on the back for your frequency preference, and then plug in a cable for output to your mains, and its done!

Literally can't hear this subwoofer at all if the main speakers are on. We bought to bring up the upright bass player in our Rockabilly band. Low, low output, if you are considering getting one based on price, buy two.

The B1200-D does the job with a powerful, tight bass sound. Lots of sound shaping controls. Note: Our PA sub out is a 1/4 phone output. The only input on the sub is XLR . I tried a direct box and the sound was OK but not great. I then tried a 1/4 inch TRS to XLR cable. Wow! The signal to the sub was fantastic, bass sound coming from everywhere! I think you'll be happy with this sub.

Before I bought this, I did read some comments on Amz that said this speaker clipped so easily, but I took a chance given that I only needed it to play in my family room, and didn't need it to be super loud. However, this only costed less than 300 bucks :(. I guessed it is true to say you get you you pay for in this case. This really disappointed me that it clipped when I turned it not even half way. I will return to Guitar Center this weekend, and willing to pay more to get a better one.

I was dissatisfied with the overall sound of my keyboard rig. Keys always sound best in stereo and I found an amp that delivers stereo sound from a single box... But lacked low end. This little sub fleshes out the sound beautifully. It has a built in high pass filter which is quite nice... Tweak to your heart's content until you find your sweet spot. Enjoy!

I play mostly solo or duo acoustic stuff in smaller rooms. It is perfect for what i do. Really adds to the low end of my guitar and takes some pressure off my mains. Sounds really good playing music between sets and would be great for DJ in smaller rooms as well.

I honestly haven't had much success with Behringer stuff in the past but they have created a niche with this sub. Very lightweight and not bulky at all. Is easy to transport but still sounds very good.

I'm never in a situation where i have to push it, i would not want to run a kick drum or anything through it but it is great at lower volumes and is a steal for the price.
