NEW REVIEW - Great for the money

I bought this last year as a starter interface for mobiles and it has never let me down. Plug and functionality work perfectly and very good sound quality with strong output. I have not had a chance to try recording through it yet but have heard that it works great for basic recording. The only minor drawback to the unit is you only have one stereo output. Using it with Traktor or Serato has strong limitations not allowing you to play from both decks independently (ie que on one channel and feed mains on the other). It is perfect and much safer for connecting your laptop to your home stereo or mixer than the headphone jack.

NEW REVIEW - Inexpensive and works great

I purchased this after my old (1997)4 track sony mini-disc wouldn't read the discs. The mixer on my sony(6 channel)still works fine, so I just needed something to get my tracks onto the computer. Since I rarely record more than 2 tracks at a time, the UCA202 seemed like a good solution. The UCA202 was instantly recognized when plugged into a USB port. After downloading the ASIO drivers from Behringer, there is no noticeable latency. I'm using this with Mixcraft4.5 and it works great. If you dont need to record more than 2 tracks at once I highly recommend this unit.

NEW REVIEW - U-control UCA202 USB-AUDIO INTERFACE

What a great idea. This product does exactly what the manufacture says it will do. It performs its job in a simple sraight forward way. Easy hook-up, easy to figure out, not complicated. Sometimes us old-school guys get overwhemed by all the tecky crap thats out there. Guitar Center helped me overcome my Vista/driver compatibility issue and I hooked it up and have been using it ever sice. I'm interfaced with BAND IN A BOX on a new laptop with a Behringer 802 mixer and a Behringer amp and variuos other sundry Guitar Center products.

Since the product is designed to appeal to the home recording novice, a more thorough explanation of how to actually interface with your PC would have been very helpful. The manual only stated the obvious. It took me three or four hours of trial and error and research to identify such terms as ASIO, latency, CODEC, and VST Host. The driver software had good instructions but the manual should identify what to input in the settings. I still can't determine what the latency rate actually is supposed to be. I had poor success with all of the recording software programs that were linked from the Behringer web site, which either had no explanation of how to use them or made no sense at all from the screen view. I finally stumbled across recording software while searching for a program to convert WAV to WMA or mp3 so that I could record to CD. I am, however, very pleased with the UCA202 device itself. It does exactly what is supposed to do at a reasonable cost.
