B-52 ACT-18X Active 18" Subwoofer

Fullhouse DJ Professional Productions is a full service mobile music presentation. In essence, we do all kinds of events, from small, indoor Wedding Receptions to large,outdoor events such as Classic Car Shows and Hot Rod meets. Our audiences range from 100 to over 8,000 people so we need a lot of "sound presence" for these outdoor and larger events. I auditioned many subwoofers from Mackie, QSC's, RTF's, JBL's, both powered and non powered. I spent 2 months researching everybody that produced subwoofers. I ended up buying 4 ACT-18X Subwoofers. My system, which utilizes all B-52 speakers, 2 LX1515's, 4 ACT-18X's, 1 B-52 Matrix 2000 system and Crown XTi 6000 amplifier ROCKS! I run 5 subwoofers and can honestly tell you that there is no comparision and only huge compliments! This set-up can be heard clearly and with authority for over 1/4 mile! I have sometimes run this rig at almost full power with no distortion whatsoever! Very well constructed and releatively easy to transport thanks to the caster wheels on every speaker, subs too! I play everything from the Beach Boys to Black Eyed Peas and the bass response is like a live concert! I know I get a lot of jobs just based on my equipment, so a big Thank You to B52! I've owned this one piece for almost 5 months now and have used it many times since the purchase. I've yet to purchase the sister speaker (non-pwrd)only because the ACT-18X has handled every venue. My first experience was a wedding with approx 220 guests, and the sound that this speaker put out was absolutely perfect. The bass bin was accompanied by a pair of B52 MX15's and anything more would've been overwhelming. I'm looking foward to buying the non-pwrd because the kind of music I play is constant bass thumping. I'm not a foreigner to purchasing B-52 products. I also own a pair of LX 18 series - I love em but too big to haul around. I definetly recommend the ACT 18X for mobile gigs.

man this B-52 speaker puts out a great sound perfect for on the road dj's and live sound. the B-52 is a lovely speaker. too bad guitar center doesnt carry the replacement fuses for the speaker that they sell. but thats a different story.!!!

I run the Act 18 and the Passive Act 18 and I love them both!!!One amp, two speakers, the best warranty around, built in the good old USA and comes equipt with rollers got to love it.The cops have been called on me many a time they do put out the bass! I have run them hard and the only thing that has ever failed me has been the building breaker box.(I pulled to much juice on the lows) Also Avi is the vice president and he has his email posted on The B-52 website. I have spoke with him about designs on my system and some warranty work issues Ive had and he has always handled business. Ive had my speakers for atleast 3 years and I run nothing but B-52. For the money and product you really cant go wrong with this sub.
