From sports to on-air news, announcing, and interviews, this headset mic does it all.

The rugged broadcast Audio-Technica BPHS1 stereo headset has closed-back around-the-ear cups and a professional boom-mounted microphone wearable on either side.

Audio-Technica designed the BPHS1 for news and sports broadcasting, announcing, and interviews. The headset microphone's cardioid polar pattern is tailored for speech pickup with maximum voice intelligibility over a wide range of frequencies. It is more sensitive to sound originating directly in front of the element, making it useful in reducing pickup of unwanted ambient sounds. The mic's flexible gooseneck boom swivels for easy positioning on either the right or left.

The AT BPHS1 headset's dual earphones offer an extended frequency response of 20—20,000 Hz and smooth, natural sound reproduction. Generously padded circumaural ear cups provide acoustic isolation and long-wearing comfort.

Audio-Technica BPHS1 Broadcast Stereo Headset with Dynamic Boom Mic Features:

  • Microphone features polar pattern and frequency response tailored for natural, highly intelligible vocal reproduction
Closed-back circumaural ear cups help seal out crowd noise and other background distractions

  • Ready to buy another pair!

As reviewed by John C. on 5/23/2010

Bought one of these for my mobile rig. The headphones are clean and clear, the mic is crisp and loud. and they are nice and sturdy built. After trying some cheaper headsets I finally bought these and they are worthy every penny. Like it even better than the Shure SM2. Only complaint would be that my ears get really warm after using them for about an hour, but I get that with any isolating headphones. I'll definitely be getting a second set to round out my mobile setup.

  • Great apart, not so great together

As reviewed by Reg Mann on 1/5/2011

Was hoping these would work perfect for live radio broadcasts, but unfortunately it doesn't seem this headphone fits the bill sadly. The headphones are great sounding. Not as tight on the head as I would like, if you move around a lot they are not as snug as one might expect for a "broadcast" headphone designed for live interviews and such, but they do sound good. The mic too sounds really great. Apart they are both very good quality products. Together however there is one major drawback, the mic seems to pic up everything that comes thought the headphones way too well and therein lies my problem. If you try to use the headphones as a monitor, even at super low levels, expect the mic to pickup everything as clear as if you stuck it in front of the muff. Not sure if it's picking up the sound from the body of the headset or if the "isolation" quality of the muffs just doesn't isolate as much as it could. IE: put on the headphones, sounds loud, take them off and listen from just a few centimeters away, very muffled, yet the microphone picks it up loud and clear as if you stuck the mic inside your ear with the phones on. I'm very disappointed. If even monitoring only yourself, you get a great reverb effect out of this pair.

  • Terrible item...

As reviewed by Samuel Lee on 9/9/2013

I used it only once but its jack is not working properly. Sometimes there is sound and sometimes there is not. When I grasp the jack connecting to the headphone it works well but when I leave it, the sound stops. I don't recommend this headset.
