Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless,
operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions:
the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level
(not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received
from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently
evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change.

The Audio-Technica ATW-252 Freeway VHF Wireless Microphone System is designed to provide reliable performance, easy setup and clear, natural sound quality. The Freeway VHF Wireless System from the 200 series includes the ATW-R250 receiver, and the ATW-T202 handheld microphone/transmitter. A novel dipole antenna system on the receiver improves operation by providing a ground element in addition to the usual signal element.
ATW-R250 receiver
The ATW-R250 receiver includes a space-saving switching power supply that automatically adapts to changes in mains voltage. Unlike bulky linear power supplies, this switching power supply is lightweight and compact; it uses only a single outlet space.
ATW-T202 Handheld transmitter
The ATW-T202 handheld transmitter features a unidirectional dynamic microphone element. The ATW-202 handheld transmitter uses internal 9-volt battery and has an Off/Standby/On switch, input Trim (level) adjustment and battery-save switch.

I was reluctant to purchase a lower priced handheld wireless system as they never perform. The first time I hooked up the ATW-252 system, it sounded great and had good range with no hissing or drop outs. The noise handling of the mic is fairly low and I was really impressed. I will definately recommend this to anyone looking for a decent wireless without breaking the bank.
I was just DJing a school dance with this Mic last night and it completely ruined the show. As soon as I plugged in my lighting setup a loud noise rang through my speakers and wouldn't stop until I plugged them in some where else. About an hour later my system started doing it again I I came to find out when I unplugged my Mic it stopped. Do not recommend this Mic!
