I've had my eyes on this mic for some time. A friend of mine has it in his home studio and I've always liked how my voice came across on it. I compared it to other mics above its price range i.e. the Baby Bottle, AKG C214, Shure SM27, and the AT4040 just sounds better on my voice. I'm running it thru an Apogee Duet 2 into Logic Pro and I think the quality is stellar. I see no reason to upgrade anytime soon now that I've purchased this one.
This mic was recommended to me buy an employee at GC and said it was the best in its price range and up. He was right! takes out the blue bird sounds great and looks great! Beats any mic up to about $700! Highly recomend it!
the AT4040 was a great upgrade from the perception 400 that mic was very muddy and I had to do alot of eqing with that mic but the at4040 hooked up with the presonus eureka pre amp made my artist vocals Cristal clear, the highs were very pleasant, the mids were great and the bottoms were solid, so if you want a great mic and on a budget this mic will get the job done, will be upgrading to a Matte Black, Mounted
