I bought this mic as an intermediate guitar player and beginner music producer looking for better audio quality than what an iPhone has to offer. Needless to say, I did some research on USB microphones (they're easy to use and don't require and interface) and I've gotta say, this was the perfect beginner choice! Not only will I use it to record music straight into GarageBand but I'll also use it to create YouTube videos. The sound is crisp, clear, and balanced. Thanks a ton, Guitar Center!

This isnt my first mic but it is the best one I've purchased so far. Crisp sounds with zero distortion. With a pop filter and the right room this mic is putting out studio quality sound. Solid build the mic feels like a tank. Plug and play design makes it a breeze to set up and start recording

  • Sound level is too low on some Windows 10 machines

It's true. This mic is not fully compatible with Windows 10. Note they left Windows 10 off the specs. Yes, if you plug it into a Windows 10 box it will work. However, on the 3 Windows 10 laptops I tried it on, the loudest I could get the output was not loud enough. Worked great on my Windows 7 box before I upgraded to 10. Look around the Internet, do your research — numerous complaints and discussions. It's a driver problem. Apparently AT blames Microsoft and Microsoft won't respond to problem reports. AT could write its own driver but has chosen not to. That said, yes, some Windows 10 users say it is fine. I love my regular AT2020s with XLR hooked up to an A/D interface, but this one — no.

Not sure what the rating comment was about not being compatible with windows 10, because it worked right away for me. Clear sound. Loved that you could plug headphones directly into the mic and control the amount of audio you heard from the two* (just what you hear not whats recorded)

Is there an adapter that would make this work on an Android phone? Mostly going to use on my PC, but I'd like to have the option of using on phone.

    Open Reply - Ronald
There is a cable, but there's another problem where this mic requires phantom power. So you would still need something to go between the ophone and the mic.

Will this microphone work with a Macbook that only has a Usb-C output? Will I need to buy an adapter?

    Open Reply - Ronald
You would need a cable to connect them (XLR to the USB-c connection)
