I purchased 2 of these to give the stage some coverage during blackouts. For the price, they give a phenomenal amount of coverage; 2 of these cover the entire stage. They look great with some haze in the air, eerie if that's what you're going for. They're small and light and will not take up a lot of room in your rig. The coverage is fairly wide even though most of the focus (brightness) is toward the center, but that's almost always the case if you're not pushing 1000 watts worth of par. They're bright, but not bright enough to cut through a stage full of bright lights, but they still add some fairly detectable atmosphere underneath. And being dmx 512 linkable, they can be used in a variety of creative ways, they even strobe. Using 4 of these in conjunction with one another seems as though they would be bright enough to begin cutting through the traditional ambient stage light, and at this price, I'm considering adding 2 more. They can be made to stand instead of hang which works well aesthetically with mood lighting, which tends to give a better feel when floating from back and underneath, disseminating some of the shadows cast by the overhead lighting, giving the stage a bit more depth. This is the first time I've used UV lighting on stage because, up til now, I haven't found anything that put out enough coverage without using incandescent pars and gels (which really get hot with darker gels and the color burns out of the gels fairly quickly from the heat intensity, and even then it's not true UV), or traditional black light fixtures that always tend to be problematic when it comes to current and noise interference issues. I highly recommend these!
I wasn't sure when I purchased this item due to its size,
but the LED's fan out enough that they cover a wide area.
If your looking for an awesome UV light for your system, than this is it. We had a banner made for our band in neon colors, and this really makes it "pop".
