The DMX-compatible P64 LED PAR can from American DJ is equipped with light emitting diodes that let you create virtually any color via RGB color mixing. Unlike conventional PAR cans which produce a limited number of colors using gel filters, the P64 LED's RGB color-mixing process combines red, green, and blue LEDs to create any desired shade. The P64 LED is equipped with 151 LEDs (51 red, 49 green, 51 blue).
With its cutting-edge RGB mixing, the P64 LED gives you complete control over the color scheme of your lighting presentation right from your DMX controller. Great for clubs, stage productions, concerts, churches, presentations, ceremonies, displays, and architectural applications, the P64 LED makes it easy to design customized colors to set any mood or highlight any object or event.
In addition to creating limitless colors, the P64 LED is very economical to operate. The fixture runs on low voltage which makes it extremely energy efficient. The LED lamps also have an exceptionally long life span, saving you money on maintenance and lamp replacement.
Another big benefit of LED lighting is that the fixture operates with limited UV emission, thus producing very low heat. This makes it great for stage applications because it helps maintain a comfortable temperature on stage for musicians and performers. What's more, the P64 LED will not cause fading and discoloration when placed near an object, so it's ideal for highlighting displays and exhibits, as well as for close-range architectural applications.
Practical and versatile, the P64 LED can be operated in three different modes: auto mode, sound active mode, or DMX control mode.
In auto mode, the P64 LED will automatically display a smoothly scrolling chase of colors the rate of which can be controlled via a speed knob on the unit. In sound active mode, the unit will react to the music and display color chases through different built-in programs.
The third option to operate the unit is the DMX control mode. With its 6 DMX channels you can control each individual trait using a standard DMX-512 controller. In this mode, the electronic 0-100 percent dimming and the RGB color mixing let you adjust the brightness of each color, the bright/dim sequencing of the colors, the color mixing, and the strobing to create a show completely customized to your needs.
The P64 LED has a wider beam diameter designed for larger staging applications such as theatrical performances, church productions, or concerts. The fixture comes with a hanging bracket that can support suspended applications.

The real poop
Hi, I am a professional LD for a concert hall in Oregon. I bought ADJ's par64 LED to evaluate it against 600w DYS halogen par64. It was very disappointing from a pro lighting point of view. I'm sure it is cool for smaller applications and tiny nightclubs though. My two biggest complaints is that the foot candles(7.5 FC, 85 LUX@ 10 feet)Are so few that you can't even see this light next to a 600w DYS par64. Next to a 1K DYS par 64, this light wouldn't even exist. Bottom line is that you cannot combine this light with any other stage lights and expect to see it. The second problem is that the nanometer wave length of the blue leds is far too high. The blue LEDS are more sky blue then deep blue so all the lower colors are weak and grayish. Compare that to a sound system with no bass. Its like you can get the blue or purple palettes but they look dull and lifeless. The red and green LEDs are fine however.

Versatile Light
Most people I know wonder how the brightness compares to other non-LED lights. Well after using them wirh a band, I would say they are about as bright as a 100 watt par 36. Of course almost any color can be created with DMX control which is very versatile. Although two are not really bright enough to wash a full stage, I get excelent results using them for "up lights" on the back wall. The colors are bright and vivid used this way. I'm still looking for a LED light that can compete with a 600 Watt par - Maybe somday.

Nice Cans
I bought 2 of these cans recently and also 2 of the Pro versions. I would definately recommend holding out and buying the pro version of this light. You can however use the LED-Sync feature of the Pro cans with these (Master-Slave). These cans are great quality, but not near as bright and crispy as the PRO cans. Final thought- If you can Spend $100 Extra go for the PRO Cans, if not these will work for ya. You can Find the Pro cans for $299.

Colors so vivid, real life seems dull...
The Par64 color-mixing L.E.D. by American Dj is nothing short of amazing. The vividness and amazing hue of the colors makes standard par 64's pale by comparison. In addition to the amazing colors, you are able to strobe in any color, and at any intensity! You can manually mix the colors, or have the light scroll through 3 or 7 color chases. And unlike some competitors that use proprietary software, these are controllable by any DMX light controller! Keep in mind though, you want them facing AWAY from you audience, or instead of seeing the color purple, for example, they'll see the seperate blue and red L.E.D.'s. Without a doubt, these lights will impress everyone who sees them!
