Description
The American DJ Crank II Mobile Trussing System is the ultimate mobile lighting stand system that makes life on the road much easier. Before the American II Crank-2, you had to push your heavy lights up by hand. This stage light system with truss lets you set up everything at eye level, then easily crank up to 10" high. The rack offers heavy duty tripod stands and American DJ's road-durable steel I-beam trusses that hold up to 140 lbs.

    After figuring out that it's nearly impossible for one person to raise a non-crank truss, returned it and bought the American DJ Crank II because it went higher and seemed to be heavier duty than the Odyssey (although the Odyssey is actually rated for more weight). Didn't even finish taking the Crank II out of the box before I realized that it was just way too heavy. Also, the cable crank system only operates in the lifting direction and relies on gravity to lower it which is not good as one side can stick and then release, dropping the lights several inches before catching which seems to be pretty jarring on the lights. Returned the Crank II and bought the Odyssey - wish I had started there but really happy that I ended up with it. The cranks operate on a two way screw system and go up and down much easier than the Crank II. Significantly lighter than the Crank II and just as strong and stable. The 10' height is plenty. The Odyssey is the one to buy hands down.

    Pretty easy to set up, and a breeze to crank up, only con is it's a little heavy!

    I've used a fair hand-full of truss systems for various purposes ranging from mobile to installed sound, and this is one of the best for the money. The set weighs over 70lbs, making it somewhat cumbersome to transport but also extremely sturdy. Overall an excellent value for the money and infinitely easier to use that a non-crank style truss. Highly recommended.
