AKG C214 Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic (104989132)
Availability:

An affordable condenser that can handle high SPLs.

AKG's industry-leading C 414 microphones are already a permanent fixture in the world's biggest recording studios and a highly respected workhorse for independent artists, broadcasting, and on-stage miking as well.

The new C 214 is designed as a cost-effective alternative to the high-end, industry-leading C 414 family. It captures sound combining one side of the legendary C 414 dual-capsule system and AKG's patented Back-Plate Technology, which results in an outstanding performance very close to the famous C 414 B-XLS.

Like the C 414 models, the C 214 is capable of handling the rigors of high-pressure sound such as amplified guitars, with a sensitivity perfect for voice and orchestral instruments as well. Additionally, the microphone offers a 20 dB Attenuation pad, 13 dB noise floor, and a low cut switch — all in an elegant but rugged package.

Additional features include an integrated suspension, a double mesh grill high RF immunity without affecting acoustics. The circuitry in the C 214 provides maximum SPL capability with minimum noise and the gold-plated XLR-type output connector offers loss-free signals.

The C 214 comes complete with carrying case, windscreen, and spider suspension mount included.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • Pro sound that won't break your bank!

As reviewed by DJ Hellfire on 3/17/2009

I find it hard to trust reviews because everyone almost always loves their product. But when it comes to the C214, it deserves 5 stars. Upgrading from the Perception 220, which I wasn't really happy with, there is a night and day difference. This mic is so much more crisp on vocals and hardly needs any EQ. I've found a LPF rolloff and slight boost in the highs is all this really needed for me. If you are on a low to mid budget, this is a great choice. I was finally able to capture that professional sounding vocal that I just could not get with my 220.

  • Not Bad

As reviewed by Drew on 1/6/2010

I have used this mic on the road for a good two months and it was okay. We had it on guitars. It is another creature compared to say the KSM32, or AT2500. Yet, some nights you roll in to a venue that has issues with snakes, cables and consoles. I am over the 'got to have the large diaphragm condenser' for guits and drums. Sure in a controlled environment that's perfect. Live, I need something that is reasonably priced and durable. For the price of one C214 you can get two Heil PR 30's. That's my two cents.

  • Best Mic Ever

As reviewed by Mike on 12/22/2008

AKG has set the bar with this microphone. From the moment I hooked it up I couldnt believe my ears. The mic required hardly no EQing and it sounds great for vocals or accoustic instruments. I havent tried it on drums but I have a feeling it would sound good on those as well. Siblances are no longer a problem with this mic. Plosives are not a problem either. Now I know what they mean when people say "You get what you pay for" I will never purchase another microphone below this price rang. PROFESSIONAL STUDIO SOUND QUALITY!
