Darkglass

Description

The Element Cabsim headphone amp is a uniquely innovative and immensely practical tool for players. Compatible with bass guitars, guitars, or any kind of instrument, this headphone amplifier offers cabinet simulation for practicing, performing or recording.

Inspired by the touch sensors used in the Darkglass Hyper Luminal Compressor, the Element Cabsim features equally intuitive controls—3 fully-tactile slider potentiometers with positioning LEDs. It offers a bank of 5 cabinet simulations, and the ability to add more through the Darkglass Suite. The Element Cabsim is Bluetooth-compatible to listen back while playing, rehearsing, or studying. The Cabsim has 2 headphone outputs with independent volume controls for interaction with other players, along with an XLR out to connect to a microphone preamp, PA system, etc.

Can be used for guitar or bass. Has an amp model for both, a variety of cabs and mics, and even an eq. Headphone output for practice, DI for rehearsals and performance. I liked the MXR and the JHS pulp n peel a lot, but no headphone output. I have the boss GT-1B, too, but no DI. App interface is easy. This one works for me.

So far so good. I feel like the other reviewer who gave this three stars didn't understand how to use this. Up until the last update which added some rudimentary poweramp and guitar amp sims (not Kemper league but would do for practice) this item did not have a way to just plug in a guitar and have useable sound. This is not a helix.. its a cab simulator with headphone and xlr output made for either plugging in an amp (DI or speaker out, though this is not a loadbox) or preamp pedal that mimics an amp. Plugging directly in with a guitar and wondering why the sound is weak is like wondering how come you dont get sound when you plug an instrument directly into a speaker cabinet. You need an amp (or preamp pedal) in between your guitar and the speaker sim. As of the latest update now it does have some guitar amp sims but it didn't before and that's not really its thing. Getting DI in from my Marshall SV20 and sending it out to my audio interface the sound is loud and clear. No issues

I used this for recording. The output was very low and I had to boost the signal and it would clip. I was looking for more of a clean tone. So I returned it.
