Aquila's 7U Nylgut High G Concert ukulele string set strings are comprised of a synthetic plastic compound that stays in tune with accurate fret intonation. With a density similar to pure gut, Nylgut produces a natural sound and is stable under moisture changes.

The development of a new synthetic material that can imitate the acoustical characteristics of gut, but without the typical defects such as high cost, short string life, and severe instability to changes of climate, has always been a fundamental goal of Aquila's research. Nylgut is the result. Nylgut's formula is protected by U.S. and International patents.

Nylgut has a specific density and acoustical qualities nearly identical to that of gut, and is the first truly successful synthetic version of the natural product.

Other strong points of Nylgut are its elevated resistance to wear under tension—greater than that of gut—but even more important is its extraordinary immunity to changes of climate, considerably better than that of nylon and thereby ensuring a superior stability of tuning under normal conditions.

Nylgut strings are quickly becoming the choice of ukulele players worldwide. Some say their instruments have been transformed by Nylgut strings. Nylgut strings for ukuleles are highly polished to a smooth surface.

I'm not sure when the Nylgut sting was developed but, I put a set on my 1922 Oliver Ditson Soprano Ukulele in 1997 and they are still on there. These strings are notable for their consistency in tone and volume. When you play a chord no single string sounds loader than the others as sometimes happens with other brands. That's all I have to say about that. The video attached is what the strings sounded like in 2012 - fifteen years later Still on in 2020

I have tried many sets of strings for my ukulele and these are the ones I prefer. They are a lovely off-white creamy color so they really stand out on the uke and gives it a nice classic look. The only real "downside" is that they take about a week to settle in after you string them which can be annoying but that's the standard with any string brand I have tried. I haven't had one of these break on me yet. I always have one set on my uke and another handy for when I change out the strings. Very nice for the price!

I have only recently started playing ukelele but I have used these strings consistently on different ukes and have used several sets. These are very nice strings. My local Guitar Center always has some on hand. Yes I would recommend this product.
