Description
Epiphone's Extura Prophecy electric guitar brings the iconic Explorer into the 21st century. The Extura Prophecy combines the elegance of the Explorer with the improved upper fret access of the Futura for a guitar that looks vintage but plays like a dream. The mahogany body is capped with a stunning AAA flame maple veneer and finished in aged vintage gloss, allowing the wood to resonate fully while giving the Extura Prophecy a gracefully aged appearance.
Fluence Humbuckers Provide a Spectrum of Tones
At the heart of the Extura Prophecy are a pair of Fishman Fluence humbucking pickups that are completely noiseless, making this an ideal guitar for recording. With the flip of a switch, you can select from three distinct voicings: a hot, modern active tone; a classic PAF-style humbucker tone; or a slightly overwound single-coil tone. This pickup flexibility, combined with the Extura Prophecy's solid mahogany construction and ebony fretboard, provides a platform for crafting your own signature sound.
Fast, Ergonomic Neck Built for Shredding
The Extura Prophecy's mahogany neck has an asymmetrical SlimTaper profile that feels fast yet comfortably contoured to the natural shape of the hand. With 24 jumbo frets, a 12" radius and unimpeded access to the highest frets thanks to the sculpted heel, the Extura Prophecy is a shredder's dream. The ebony fretboard looks as good as it feels and provides a smooth, glassy surface for bending notes and playing at breakneck speeds.
Rock-Solid Hardware and Tuning Stability
The Extura Prophecy features premium brushed nickel hardware, including a Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Grover locking Rotomatic tuners. The Tune-O-Matic bridge provides optimal tone and sustain, while the stopbar tailpiece adds sustain and resonance. The locking Grover tuners help keep the Extura Prophecy in tune through even the most punishing practice sessions and performances. A black Graph Tech NuBone nut improves clarity and sustain.
A Modern Take on a Classic Shape
With its angular mahogany body, the Explorer has become an icon of rock guitar design. The Extura Prophecy pays homage to this classic Gibson model but improves on the original with its sculpted heel, stunning flamed maple top, and thin satin finish. Sleek yet aggressive, the Extura Prophecy's futuristic take on a retro shape is sure to turn heads.
