One of the Best Throne's

I upgraded my throne from a basic Tama throne that came with my Tama Rockstar Custom kit, and what a difference this throne makes. I bought the Round version & I sit on this throne for hours on end. I feel no discomfort whatsoever. With my old Tama throne, it would be wobbly and I wouldn't feel any stability at all. With this throne I can spin around, move left to right and do just about anything and the throne feels secure. There are 2 cons though with this throne. 1.) It does not go low enough. 2.) The Top seat does not come off, so putting it in your Road case is useless because it won't fit. Other than the 2 cons, I believe this is one of the best thrones I have ever sat on. I tested all of the other thrones out in the store as well, Pork Pie, Pearl, Tama, Roc N Soc, and all of them felt wobbly to me where as the DW Airlift felt really secure...Don't take my word for it, go in the store and try em out and you'll see what I'm talking about

So my two hardware roller bags were stolen, including my Pork Pie "Big Boy" throne which I loved. Bought the round top model at G.C. and thought it would work well. At first it took some getting used to because of it's size and big pad, very heavy duty, and the air lift feature is nice, but those four legs, seemed like every time I went to sit down I was tripping on them. Bought the throne about 9 or ten years ago, and after two years bought the OCDP copy of the Pork PIe with three legs. Much easier to get around, much lighter, and extremely comfortable for long gigs and rehearsals. It will squeak if not kept lightly greased. The air lift is used for studio seating as needed.

  • SERIOUS Throne - DW Quality

Make no mistake, this is a heavy duty throne. The pneumatic post moves very little once set. Be careful, the 4 legs are out there, I have tripped a few times. Also, be sure to check the seat-to-post set screw from time to time, mine has loosened. Very comfortable cushion. Had a few stickers on the leg that needed razor blade removal. DW is top quality and the 9000 stuff is sometimes overkill in a good way.

I will agree with all those who gave this product 5 stars. takes some time to get the feel of how the seats moves, swivels and the gas shock does allow minor movement vertically. Construction is top notch. The only concern I have is whether the gas shock will last the life of the seat. Gas shocks on other things, like rear windows on vehicles tend to wear out. Otherwise, I love it.

Went from a low quality throne to this. Couldn't imagine anything better. First session, I went from 45 minutes of play and losing feeling in my right leg with my old throne, to 3 hours of play and no numbness in my foot or cramped hip. This changed my drumming, and now I can practice way more!

pros: very comfortable, stable, and well made. cons: - rather heavy, so a bit of a hassle to move around. - the seating area is HUGE - an average man here and I use less than half of the seating area. time will tell how the seating shape will hold, given the large unused portion of the seat. also, due to size, need ample space to turn around, and some serious straddling game to sit behind the drums
