beyerdynamic M 201 Dynamic Moving-Coil Microphone

Description
What if one microphone could handle your entire session with precision and consistency? The beyerdynamic M 201 dynamic microphone delivers exactly that with exceptionally natural sound reproduction, a focused hypercardioid polar pattern and the durability of a dynamic moving-coil design. With a wide 40Hz–18kHz frequency response, excellent transient accuracy and high SPL handling, it captures everything from snare drums and guitar amps to acoustic instruments and speech with clarity and detail. Often chosen as an alternative to condenser microphones, it combines studio-level accuracy with the rugged reliability needed for both stage and studio environments.
Detailed Sound With Dynamic Reliability
At the core of the M 201 is a precision-engineered Hostaphan diaphragm, a lightweight material that delivers outstanding impulse response and detailed signal capture. This allows the microphone to reproduce fast transients and subtle nuances with remarkable accuracy, even at high sound pressure levels. The result is a clear, balanced sound with a smooth top end that works equally well on drums, guitar cabinets, brass instruments and acoustic sources.
Focused Pickup With Excellent Isolation
The hypercardioid polar pattern gives the M 201 its exceptional directionality, prioritizing sound from the front while reducing bleed from the sides and rear. This ensures excellent channel separation in multi-mic setups and helps minimize feedback in live environments. An integrated hum compensation coil further reduces electromagnetic interference, making it a reliable choice in challenging recording conditions or electrically noisy stages.
Handcrafted beyerdynamic Quality
Handmade in Germany with meticulous attention to detail, the M 201 reflects beyerdynamic’s long-standing commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Its slim pencil-style design allows for easy placement in tight spaces, while the rugged brass housing ensures durability for everyday professional use. Each microphone is individually measured and includes its own frequency response curve, delivering a level of precision and consistency that makes the beyerdynamic M 201 mic a trusted tool for engineers and performers alike.
