collapse expand iconDescription

These Zildjian Black DIP drum sticks provide drummers with an unparalleled combination of comfort, control and performance. Zildjian's popular 5A and 5B drum sticks receive a slip-free upgrade with the addition of the brand's proprietary DIP coating in a sleek black finish. The DIP material is expertly applied to the area where drummers grip the most, allowing for faster playing, reduced fatigue and fewer dropped sticks. Beneath the DIP coating, the drum stick's hickory construction provides a perfect density to produce punchy tones from drums and articulate responses from cymbals. For drummers seeking a versatile stick that can handle any gig, the Zildjian Black DIP drum sticks are available at Guitar Center.

DIP Coating Technology Provides an Unbeatable Grip

Zildjian's innovative DIP coating is a special material applied to the grip area of drum sticks to give players a comfortable, tacky surface that reduces slippage even when hands get sweaty. The DIP coating comes in a variety of colors, including the stealthy black finish found on the Zildjian Black DIP drum sticks. This coating allows drummers to maintain control and speed up their playing, especially during more intense sections of a performance. The DIP material also helps absorb shock, decreasing the impact on players' hands, wrists and arms to prevent fatigue over long practice sessions and multi-hour shows.

Trusted Design Delivers Versatile Tone and Feel

Zildjian's drum sticks are one of the most popular models in the world thanks to their versatility, comfort and ability to produce quality tones in any genre. With a medium taper, standard 16" length and familiar balance, their design allows drummers to seamlessly switch between different styles of music without changing sticks. Their small oval tips provide clear, articulate cymbal responses and a musical range of tones from drums. Between the tips and grips, the hickory shafts supply a density that translates into volume and power.

Built to Withstand the Rigors of Performance

Zildjian holds their drum sticks to the highest manufacturing standards to ensure durability and consistency. Made from select hickory, Zildjian drum sticks are kiln-dried then turned and sanded to a precise 100% straightness. This meticulous process results in sticks that feel and perform the same every time they're picked up. The Black DIP coating provides an additional layer of protection from the elements to prevent damage for longevity. For drummers who demand reliable gear that can keep up on stage and in the studio, the Zildjian Black DIP drum sticks are purpose-built to withstand the rigors of performance.

Say Goodbye To Dropping Your Sticks

I've been using the Zildjian Dip 5A's for about three years, and I don't think I could recommend a better stick for jazz to heavy drummers alike! The thin rubberized coating prevents alot of the reverb from getting to your hands, especcially when used on cymbals. Also the coating makes it much more difficult to drop your sticks. The rubber doesn't last very long though. It can bubble up in some areas and peel off after a few long stretches of playing, but while it lasts it's a very comfortable stick.

Where'd the stick go?

Oh its still in my hand... wheres the rest of it? it broke? after half a song? oh... well thats weird. Ill just get the other pair i bought, these must just be faulty. (few minutes later) ouch, a piece of the stick just hit my face. Oh, it broke. The grips are a wonderful idea, and work well. But the sticks tend to vibrate a lot actually, and they break wicked wicked easy. I honestly would suggest not buying a pair of these sticks, at all. Try other methods to get grip. Maybe tape? All sizes and tips and anything in this series breaks easily like this. read the other reviews one of them at least mentions BOTH of his pairs breaking as well.

I use the product to play with on my drums. I enjoy the black dip sticks for stability and accuracy. The Evan's heads are amazing they present a great tone and they don't needs tuning as much. Guitar center is my favorite go to for all my drumming needs you guys treat me well all the time. Thank You.

I use these for R&R and Blues. They're a versatile weight and length. The coating helps to make a very secure grip even when hands get sweaty. There is one thing that's problematic for me and that is the coating on the butts wear first which makes the ends uncomfortable. For me, that tends to be near the end of the life of the sticks anyway. However, after several years of using these sticks, I just came up with a possible solution that I'm going to try. That is cutting the coating off of just the butts when they are new, to be proactive. #sweepstakes

I play mostly to R&R and Blues and I find them to be a great weight and good length. The coated grips are handy when palms get sweaty and offer a good solid grasp all the time. The only thing that's regrettable is the butts wear and that doesn't feel so good. But that's near the end of their lifespan, which is a good amount of playing for me.
