I grabbed this guitar a couple years ago once I started performing. Plugged in, it sounds great. It is incredibly bright sounding so I had to adjust the bass and mid-range levels but once you get a good mix, it sounds nice. I also beat it to death and it held up really well and still performed, so its durability is great. The problem I had with this guitar is its sound when played unplugged. It is not very loud, and its tone is a little tinny and not very rich. When playing unplugged, I used my $179 Mitchell instead of this Yamaha. So if you don't have access to a sound system regularly, I wouldn't recommend using this guitar unplugged. It gets the job done, and in my opinion it's the best guitar you'll find for this price range

Love.

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

I bought this guitar a few years back, and it's never given me one problem. I've taken it camping, dropped it, neglected it for days at a time, and yet it's never failed to perform. I honestly have no complaints, other than the electronics take a little bit of getting used to. And for the price?? You can't get a better guitar than this for less than $500. I absolutely recommend it for any player. side note...you can't really see it in the picture, but the soundhole is larger than normal. i dont know why. but it affects playing in no way, i didnt even realize it right away.

Great Guitar; Great Price!

By Dominic LaRocca

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

I've had this guitar for about two weeks now. It looks awesome and is very comfortable to play especially with cutaway. I've plugged it in a few times and it sounds amazing. The equalizer on the preamp works well, i like to set it to have a little more bass, but i know other people often like a little more treble, and it works fine for that too. I haven't run out of battery but i do know that the battery indicator lights up when the battery is low and I'm sure that will be helpful. The guitar sounds great and it's only $250. And don't tell him, but I think it's better than my father's Martin and it's definitely easier to play. This is a great guitar, but be sure to go and try it out yourself along with a few others. when i went to Guitar Center i had also tried out the Fender T-Bucket 300CE and it seemed pretty good too, so you might wanna check that one out too.

For those looking for the perfect acoustic...

By Johnny Stratocaster

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

Dear reader, You might be like me who's just a gear freak browsing the web for a purchase that as a musician, you might never have the money to buy. Or you could be serious about finding the right acoustic guitar. Though it may be cliche to say: Look no further. This is as good as it gets in my opinion. It's the best price you'll find for high end quality. I've tried and played just about every guitar I've ever seen, and as far as acoustic guitars go, this is it. I've been through Taylors, Martins, Ibanez, and all the rest... they simply don't compare. Yeah, Taylor guitars sound great but they're frankly uncomfortable and overpriced. Ibanez acoustics simply aren't loud enough when they're not plugged in. So on and so forth. This guitar in particular is perfectly comfortable to play, carries it's volume unplugged, and sounds perfect plugged in. Like any other guitar, you'll have to dial it in a bit to get it just right, but even with the EQ flat it still sounds great. I personally do not own one, but I've played tons of live stints with my friend's. I have to say it carries its weight for the money. Just buy it.

Great guitar for a great price!

By Matt Barth

from Springfield, MI

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

After looking online and doing a TON of research on different acoustic, and electric/acoustic guitars, I decided to go with the FX370C. To say in the least, I am extremely happy with my choice of buying this guitar. I tried it out in a GC store near me, and it played really well. They didn't have the color I wanted (natural), so I had one reserved at a different location. I didn't notice any of the ringing or action issues (that some reviews have cited) on either the one I tried out, or the one I purchased. The guitar is fantastic for the price, and the natural colored version is incredible on the visual side. Great lines, nice deep/rich color tones. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a quality instrument at a great price!

Awesome Guitar

By John Suter

from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

I am a relative beginner at playing. I had been playing an Ovation Applause for about 4 months, and wanted something a little more traditional and better sounding. I tried many different guitars in the store, and was worried about finding one in my price range that would sound good and not look cheap. This was the guitar! I got it home and it played beautiful right out of the case. It is easy to play, and has a sound that I feel is comparable to the other more expensive models that I had tried out. My lead guitarist tried it out and was very approving of the sound and feel of it. I did change to heavier strings, but no other changes. I am very happy with this guitar find it easy to play in the studio or on stage!

Fantastic guitar!

By DOUGLAS ZYSK

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

I picked this guitar up a little over two years ago. It was the first guitar I had purchased so I wasnt too sure what to look for when I walked in to my local Guitar Center. The sales rep picked up this bad boy and basically said that it's the best guitar you'll find for under 500 dollars and he was right. After two years with this guitar I have not had a single problem. The natural finish is gorgeoes, it has a perfect action, and a bright, rich tone that I have yet to find with other, more expensive guitars. I absolute love this guitar and so does every one of my friends that have played it. I would most certainly advise not only beginners, but advanced players to at least give it a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Comments about Yamaha FX370C F SERIES Cutaway Acoustic-Electric:

I went to buy an electric but always wanted to try an acoustic electric. I fell in love with this guitar and bought it instead. With the amp and the ability to adjust tone on the guitar itself I can get a great electric guitar sound. Buy new strings it's worth it. The only thing I didn't like is the peg holes for the strings. That part of the guitar could use some improvement but it's not bad though.
