Whether you're playing piano ballads or layering synth textures, the CK88 offers professional-grade sound and functionality that adapts to demanding performance environments. Its compact form and robust feature set make it an essential tool for musicians seeking portability and versatility without compromise.

Diverse Sound Library With Real-Time Control

The CK88 features an expansive sound library that includes realistic piano tones, vintage drawbar organs, transistor organ sounds and lush synth basses and leads. Brass and string tones add depth and texture for ensemble playing, while onboard effects like reverb and delay enhance the instrument's tonal richness. Dedicated controls, including knobs for EQ and sound shaping, provide real-time manipulation, allowing players to craft their ideal tone effortlessly. This hands-on interface ensures full creative control, making the CK88 a powerful tool for live performance and studio sessions.

Quick and Easy Editing Without Menus

The CK88 simplifies sound customization with an intuitive interface designed for quick, on-the-fly adjustments. Volume, EQ and part levels are controlled via dedicated knobs, eliminating the need to navigate complex menus. With two assignable foot pedal inputs, players can add dynamic sustain or expression to their performance. The keyboard also supports four-zone MIDI control, allowing seamless manipulation of external sound modules and synths. This streamlined approach ensures players stay focused on their music, rather than being distracted by settings and configurations.

A Portable Workstation for Gigging and Practice

Weighing under 30 lb., the CK88 is built for musicians on the move. Its compact design and integrated speakers make it perfect for intimate performances or rehearsals, while Bluetooth audio allows streaming from mobile devices for backing tracks or play-along practice. An A/D input enables integration of vocals or additional instruments, expanding its functionality for multi-instrument setups. Whether you're at home, on stage or traveling to gigs, this lightweight model delivers professional-grade performance in a portable package.

Premium Yamaha Design for Long-Lasting Reliability

Yamaha's reputation for quality craftsmanship is evident in the CK88. The Graded Hammer Standard keybed provides a responsive feel that supports expressive playing, while the onboard DSP effects offer studio-quality sound customization. Best of breed IMHO

The Yamaha CK88 Stage Piano was recommended by Ray; another keyboardist and friend. (He's not a salesman for GC) The CK88 is perfect for me. It has good acoustic and electric piano sounds, it's not heavy, the layout is intuitive and easy to navigate, and it feels good when I play it. I really don't gravitate to organs but that may change because of the CK88. I also found the other programs/tones/sounds very usable. Love the 'Live Set Sound' functionality. The band I play in repertoire is eclectic. This keyboard covers more than the essentials. The built in speakers actually sound pretty good. This should be my final keyboard for a minute or 2. My new gigging rig will consist of the Yamaha CK88, Roland Fantom 07, a vintage Korg X50, and a Lync Keytar/vintage Roland JV1010 sound module.

Never fails to fail AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Ive had this board a little over a year and it CONSTANTLY breaks down. I've used it for two gigs and otherwise has been only a studio board. To start with some positives, the control layout and on board programming are phenomenal, this things a joy to write patches on. It's sample library is pretty excellent as well, although I will say its onboard Leslie emiulator leaves a lot to be desired, and definitely feels like yamaha purposefully loaded a poor leslie emiulator into it to not be too good as to start competing with the YC serries. That being said this is the least relyable bord I've ever had, eight months into owning it a board connector failed and left its keyboard non-functional, then a week after I got it back from that warranty repair (now out of warranty) the power switch failed to the on position(the only way to power it off is to pull the plug or remove the batteries), and now a key, F3 to be specific, is starting to badly rattle like part of its plastic weighted mechanism has cracked or failed. Yamaha is known for their outstanding build quality and reliability, and I'm absolutely appalled by how poor this one's is on both fronts. With a price tag of just under $1500 this is absolutely inexcusable.

It's function friendly(no manual need for normal use) and at least easy to carry to gigs. Very nice sounds (love the e-piano sounds) but the piano sounds are good not great (made adjustments to improve them). Still give it 5 stars though. Great feel on the keys too. Love playing this!

I was looking for an upgrade to a 20 year old keyboard. I looked at several and kept coming back to this one. It is easy to control, well thought out, sounds fantastic, and has the most realistic "piano like" feel to it. I opted to go with this one and I'm glad I did.

I use the Yamaha CK88 for home playing and cover band gigs. I like the key bed action, it has nice acoustic and electric piano patches, overall very easy to operate.

Love all of the 'one-function' buttons and ease of use. Having so much fun with this. Action is piano-like. Not amazing but good realism for the price. Absolutely love the ability to run on battery power, play audio via Bluetooth, onboard speakers, and it's light weight. Could use more sounds but I can also just hook it up to my computer and Mainstage to have more available patches.

  • Great board.

I use the CK88 in my eclectic band and also for a solo/duo piano gig. Love the piano sounds as well as the organs and synths. I also love the interface , especially for effects control.
