I don't know about the rest of the gig pack, but I've owned this guitar for two years and have been consistently been playing it for a year. For a beginner, this guitar is fantastic. When you're playing correctly, there is excellent sound quality. The strings are excellent quality (unless your two year old brother sits on one and you have to replace it). The steel hurts the fingers a little, but all guitars do. The only problem is that the neck is a little wide for those of us with small hands... barre chords are a problem, but just to start out this is a great guitar. The sound, when plucking especially, is beautiful!!!! I love this guitar, but once you grow more advanced, you will want to get another guitar as well (that's what I am doing). It's great especially for the price. I reccomend this guitar for any age or size beginner. My ten year old sister enjoys learning on it when she has the time. :) And she is very tiny.

This is a good beginner guitar. I have had it for about 5 years and it is in almost perfect condition. One downside is that the neck isn't very slim so it doesn't have the best playability. It also doesn't have many accessible frets. But, it stays in tune longer than any Martin or Taylor I've seen.

I got this guitar 5 years ago. when i bought it i was expecting it to last me maybe 1 year or 2 at the max but its lasted this long and its only gotten better as it has aged.

i got this guitar when i was about 10 (im 18 now) and it's been great iv learned so much on this guitar and id recomend it to anybody looking for there first guitar. it's a good sound for a good price.

I have several guitars of diffent styles but was lacking a nylon acoustic. I wanted to study some classical and flamenco music. I didn't want to make a huge purchase on something I wasn't going to get extremely invested in, so my guitar teacher recommended the Yamaha C40 Gigmaker. It is perfect! It's been several months now and still plays and sounds great. An amazing value for the dollar. So every now and again when I get the itch, it's there and ready for me. Whether this is for a beginner, a student or someone like me who just wants to add a nylon to the arsenal, there's no need to look further than this.

You will be quite pleased with he sound and action unless you are a concert guitarist.
I have two as knock around guitars because with the plywood top, they are less sensitive to moisture and heat extremes. If it were rated on value .. it would be 5 stars.

the title says it all and here is why : this guitar made from a VERY cheap wood, and the paint well peel in a year or two, and the buzz..... OH MY IT'S SO CRAZY EVERY WHERE ON THE FRETBOARD especially on the high E string (first from the top), the fretboard is very thick and slow you need a wet hand to get a better sliding, if you want a good classical guitar with good value i recommend you to buy Washburn C80S Madrid. but why not get an acoustic guitar like ''Ibanez SGT520 SAGE SERIES'' it's really good for any classical or acoustic song especially the thin fast neck.

Good quality from a brand name you know. Came with bag and digital tuner, basic video. Guitar center shipped for free and had the lowest price. If I master this one then I will buy a better guitar and be able to sell this one based on Yamaha quality. Sound is good, finish is good, no issues, I rate this a good buy.

I have been playing a long time and had many guitars and the C40 is one of the best for the price. Really nice tone. Also I have big hands so the width of the neck is great for me. I am rehearsing some classical arrangements of Christmas Carols for a CD my family and I produce at Christmas time. Looking forward to hearing the new guitar on it this year.

THE MANUFACTURER WRAPPED THIS ITEM SO WELL. THE GIG BAG IS WELL MADE FOR BEING INEXPENSIVE. COMES ALSO WITH A VERY NICE BEGINNERS ACOUSTIC GUITAR DVD & CLIP ON CHROMATIC TUNER. AT PRESENT IT IS HARD FOR ME TO KEEP THIS GUITAR TUNED. THE STRINGS KEEP WANTING TO STRETCH. I THINK THE MORE TIME I HAVE TO PLAY THIS QUITAR THE BETTER IT WILL GET I HOPE. I HAD A GOOD FRIEND AT FIRST TUNE THIS GUITAR WHO IS A PRO. HE SAID THIS IS WELL A GOOD GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS SUCH AS MYSELF. I DON'T PLAN ON PLAYING IN CONCERTS, ETC. SO THIS GUITAR WILL SUFFICE.
