Yamaha may be the biggest musical instrument manufacturer in the world, but that doesn't mean they're set in their ways. In fact, more often than not it's the opposite: they constantly refresh their existing products, and once in a while they come out with something completely new. The Yamaha Revstar series falls into the second of those two categories, joining the Pacifica and SG2000 to put another jewel in their crown. And those older models give a pretty good idea what to expect from the Revstar series: well-made, solid-performing instruments at a price point affordable for any musician. Who could ask for more than that?

Maybe you're wondering why the name "Revstar" - it's actually because their design is partly inspired by Yamaha's Café Racer motorbikes from the 1960s. And although they don't sound the same as a bike (unless you're covering Meat Loaf, maybe), these guitars can still take your stage presence from 0 to 60 in a hurry. Of course, like any other instrument, choosing the right one depends on what you're looking for. If you'd like a basic model to get your foot in the proverbial door, check out the Yamaha Revstar RS420 Electric Guitar. Want the most iconic look? Try the Revstar RS502T. Or maybe you're after the top of the line? In that case, take a look at the Revstar RS820CR, or the Revstar RS720B if a Bigsby vibrato is up your alley.

Choosing the best fit for your playing style is just a matter of taking your time, so don't rush it! Read up on what each Yamaha Revstar guitar has to offer, and it won't take you long to decide which one is the perfect addition to your instrument collection. With features like their "dry switch" - an interesting alternative to split coils - they've definitely brought a few new tricks to Yamaha's lineup, and there's no doubt that it's tempting to try them out! So feel free to give them a shot; they're well worth the price of admission.
