Overview

Williams Legato is an affordable digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys, five great sounds (piano, electric piano, organ, synth, and bass) and built-in speakers. It also features split/layer function (to combine sounds) and a built-in metronome. This ultra-portable piano is perfect for performing and practicing.

Voices
The Legato piano has 5 built-in voices. Each voice may be selected one at a time. They can be layered to produce two voices at once, or assigned to the left or right hands in the split mode. Voices include: Piano, Electric Piano, Organ, Synth and Bass.

Split Mode
Split Mode allows the keyboard to be divided into two sections so that different voices may be played with the left and right hands. The volume may be independently adjusted for each voice, the Split Point (the highest note played with the left hand) may be adjusted and the Split Voice may be changed as desired.

Reverb and Chorus Buttons
The Reverb and Chorus effects may be applied to each voice individually and will be retained even when the power is turned off. To apply either effect, press either button. The button will light and the effect will be heard when the piano is played. To turn off the effect, press the button of the desired effect again and the LED light will go off.

Note: This keyboard operates on batteries or with a power supply, but it ships with neither. We enthusiastically recommend the Williams ESS1 Essentials Pack for the Legato Digital Piano, which comes with a power supply, sustain pedal and pair of headphones. #J10039

I ordered a keyboard that was on sale and a very good price. I called to check on the order status and that is when I learned the keyboard was being shipped from a store, not a warehouse. I was told to call the store to check the status. That is when I was told it was their FLOOR MODEL...an OPEN BOX item. Which is NOT what I ordered. I told the warehouse manager that I did not want something used even if he thought it was in good condition. The warehouse manager told me that they still had not shipped it but, would that day and if I didn't like it I could return it. I explained that I do not have transportation and it would not be easy for me to do a return. HENCE, why I order BRAND NEW. I got the keyboard and it was damaged and filthy. Pieces were missing, several of the keys make a creaking noise when played, it also is covered in disgusting finger prints!! As it was the floor model. This is not what I ordered and not what I paid for. If there was an option that said order NEW or OPEN box, I would know what to expect. Now, I am running out of time to return because I have no transportation to go to the store! This was my VERY FIRST purchase with Guitar Center and very likely my last. I'm ANGRY and ANNOYED and FRUSTRATED.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

For keyboards in this price range, it sounds decent though you definitely won't mistake it for an acoustic piano. The keys are weighted and fairly sensitive, but clearly low-budget--some keys click as they pass each other or have noisy springs, gaps between keys vary, and the action is not totally uniform (a few of my keys are heavier/stickier than others). Looks nice, no garish logos or colors. USB midi out is good for learning with software. It's dumb that the wall power adapter is not included. I would only recommend if you are limited to sub-$200 pianos.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

I have been using it constantly for the past week and I absolutely love it. The materials feel premium. I thought the keys would be slightly more weighted but it's not the most of my worries.

Unfortunately, the product came with very serious problems. 5 different keys are not working. I would like to wish the store employees to be more professional about checking the goods before selling.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

This is okay for practicing and learning. You can connect headphones and it's compact relative to an actual piano so is good for apartments and condos.
The left speaker is going out after only about a year of use and I use headphones about half the time. Several keys make creaking noises during play (which is why I use the headphones so much). It does produce a nice sound when the left speaker is behaving properly and I'm not playing any of the creaky keys.
The action is okay. It requires a bit more force to depress keys, especially when fingers are moved in, than the two pianos in my instructor's studios. Really, this is a practice keyboard.
I plan to replace it with a higher quality digital piano in the near future. The creaks and intermittently crackly speaker are too much for me.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

I was excited to find a full size piano at this price point and I have been playing it for months. The problems I have is that when played a mid to lower volume you can here the springs click inside some of the keys and it's very distracting. It's clearly a cheap model but for the price, it's basically what I expected. I'm quickly outgrowing it though, if you have experience with a piano or keyboard you probably want something better.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

This would be a great piano if the left speaker didn't go out soon after I started playing it. From time to time it gets fuzzy which kinda stinks because I love how many keys it has and how affordable this product was. You get what you pay for. I may be to generous for giving this 3 stars
