Overview

This package pairs the Williams Legato digital piano with the Add-on Pack from Williams, which contains a power supply for the keyboard, a sustain pedal and a set of headphones. The package additionally includes a single-braced lightweight keyboard stand that will accommodate the Allegro safely and reliably. A keyboard bench is included as well, along with a CD-ROM instructional course from eMedia.

Williams Legato
Williams Legato is an affordable digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys, five great sounds (piano, electric piano, organ, synth, and bass) and built-in speakers. It also features split/layer function (to combine sounds) and a built-in metronome. This ultra-portable piano is perfect for performing and practicing.

ESS-1
Many Williams designs can operate via power supply or batteries, but just in case you already have an appropriate power supply, they are sold separately. This add-on package includes a power supply, sustain pedal and a pair of headphones.

On-Stage KS7190 Keyboard Stand
The lightweight and adjustable "X"-style KAS7190 stand is perfect for many of today's lightweight keyboards.

Musician's Gear Deluxe Padded Keyboard Bench
The deluxe design combines a 3 in. cushion which provides comfort for hours of play. A spring-loaded, double deadbolt locking mechanism keeps the bench at your desired height with complete peace of mind.

Teach Yourself How to Play
The eMedia Piano & Keyboard Method interactive CD-ROM teaches piano from the very beginning. The instructional material is good for acoustic pianos or electronic keyboards. When used with a MIDI keyboard, you get Interactive Evaluation Feedback with detailed specifics on your playing, including which notes and rhythms were wrong and how to correct them.  The instructional software showcases Piano instructor Irma Irene Justicia, M.A., who has taught at the renowned Juilliard School of Music and guides you through over 300 step-by-step lessons. The Instant Feedback feature listens as you play melodies and shows whether you're playing correctly. The piano and keyboard lessons start with the basics, such as hand position, rhythm, and playing on black keys, and move on to reading music notation, sight reading, scales, and much more. Techniques are demonstrated with over 70 videos viewable in full-screen mode. Plus, you can record your performance.

The lightweight and adjustable "X"-style KAS7190 stand is perfect for many of today's lightweight keyboards.

Bought this a few weeks ago. I was looking for an entry-level keyboard for myself (and also for the wife who is getting back into playing after many years off). The keyboard itself seems a little on the "light" side, as if one careless drop could do some severe damage; however, it arrived in pristine condition so my fears may be unfounded. The stand and seat seem to be much more durably made. As noted elsewhere, the volume is a bit low - but is actually good for practicing at home and not disturbing other members of the household. The computer lessons seem pretty straightforward, and although I'll probably never play Carnegie Hall I am muddling my way through and learning. A note on the lessons: you will be far better served by buying a USB cord and plugging the keyboard into your computer. You get better and more accurate computer feedback than trying to use a microphone. Speaking of the USB, you will need to buy a USB 'A' to USB 'B' cord to use this with a computer (these are the kind that normally are used with printers - the USB 'B' end looks a little like a letter D). The keyboard has no MIDI out other than the USB 'B' plug. The line out plugs are of the old RCA variety, and the headphone jack requires a 1/4" plug (the included headphones have one and work nicely). The power adapter and sustain pedal work as advertised. As I noted above, this is a good value for the price - for a beginner or early intermediate user.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano Packages:

I bought the Legato model after I saw my brother's Williams Allegro 2. I opted for this because of my budget and I couldn't pass it up for the price of the package. I also needed to upgrade from a 61-key for my 8-year old. It is a very nice entry level keyboard, plus the package comes with everything you need to start playing. The seat and stand adjust even for young children. I do agree with other comments by the volume being a bit low, but again it is not an upright piano and is not so distracting when someone is watching tv nearby. Great for beginners and for learning. Very good deal. Highly recommend.

Theres very little volume to the piano. And you have to press hard on the keys for it to make a loud enough noise

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano Packages:

This package deal contains all that a beginner will need to get started equipment-wise. The built-in speakers do not put out a lot of volume, but that should be fine for a beginner at home and certainly for others in the house or apartment. The included headphones are also a nice addition for totally silent practice. The bench is comfortable, sturdy and does not require assembly as the keyboard stand does.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano Packages:

We were so excited to open the boxes & set this up! My young daughter sat down to play and couldn't hear anything! We turned it up to the loudest setting & you can barely hear it. We are very, very, very disappointed! I guess you get what you pay for.
