The Vox Time Machine dual-mode delay pedal was created in a collaboration between world-renowned guitarist Joe Satriani and VOX. With two delay modes and a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch, it delivers a wide range of delay sounds and yet remains remarkably easy to use.

Two delay modes to handle any situation

The Time Machine has both Modern and Vintage delay modes. The Modern mode mirrors your original sound with full clarity and fidelity, and will fit any style of music. As its name suggests, the Vintage mode delivers the sound of a classic tape delay pedal. A proprietary saturation circuit creates a warm, analog sound with a nice sense of distortion. Gentle modulation is also applied in the vintage mode, reproducing the slight warbling produced by a tape-based delay. The amazing effectiveness is the result of an uncompromising process of testing and refining carried out by Joe and VOX.

Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch summons up Joe Satriani's custom tone

Joe wanted to get a sound that blends nicely with the other performers”whether you're on stage or in the studio”and yet also has some thickness to the tone. The solution was to add a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch to the Time Machine. The Hi-Fi mode delivers a transparent, uncolored sound. The Lo-Fi mode, on the other hand, provides a distinctive EQ, combining both high-pass and low-pass filters. This EQ uses filters that have been precisely adjusted to Joe's taste, so that your guitar sound will blend naturally in the mix”without obscuring or interfering with the other players.

Versatile functions equal a diverse range of sound

The Vox Time Machine is an effect pedal like no other, one that expands your sound-creating potential through a variety of practical functions. The delay time is adjustable over a broad range”from 30ms slapback to nearly 6 full seconds of delay*. You can also use the tap tempo switch to set the delay as triplets, eighth notes, dotted 8th notes, or quarter notes depending on the delay range position setting. The chicken-head knobs that are a VOX tradition (and also favored by Joe) allow you to make fine adjustments”even while holding a pick”so it's easy to make quick yet precise changes. There are also two output jacks, so the unprocessed "dry" sound and the processed "wet" sound can be output separately. By connecting these two jacks to different amps, you can obtain spacious delay sounds that are highly effective in any playing environment.

* Maximum delay is 5800 milliseconds when using the tap temp switch and 1000 milliseconds when using the delay control.

Great Delay!

By David Fortney

from Elkridge, MD

This pedal is by far the best delay pedal out right now. Vox is boss at great tone and quality and this pedal shows it! I got this a week ago for my birthday, and right out of the box i was dazzled. The feedback knob is fun to toy with; you can set how many times the note will play, and it will go on forever if you set it to. The hi-fi/lo-fi switch makes a big difference too. Joe Satriani did a great job tweaking the EQ in this. Thanks again Vox!

Happy Customer

By Jim

from Florence, Colorado

I was initially impressed with this pedal, ran it thru a tube amp in Guitar Center. Excellent sound doesn't color your sound. I compared it to every delay pedal in the store, I did have a little trouble finding a good solo setting because the pedal is very sensative to small adjustments. Clean was easy it didn't matter how it was set. Distortion was a little more tricky, with the help of the store manager, I was totally satified with the pedal and his insight on how I should make adjustments. Iam notorious for returning gear and I honestly have to say this pedal will be staying home with me.

2 Delays are better than 1

By AmbientAmbiance

from Broken Arrow, OK

I just got this pedal to replace a broken Digitech Digital Delay. I play a very ambient style of music with a lot of delay (I also use a Boss DD-6 & Line 6 DL-4) so I was excited most about the perceived ease of the tap feature (something that always frustrated me about the Digitech & DD-6). I messed around with this pedal in the store & got some really good tones out of it through an AC30 (the closest thing Guitar Center has to my Orange). Once I got it home and began playing around with it I am unimpressed. The tap is better than the method used by most pedals but it is not as controllable as the DL-4. The ۡ̏featuresۡݕ_ that Joe had them put on there are great in theory but they are so subtle theyۡre pointless. I primarily used the Digitech on the tape setting so Iۡd hoped the Vintage feature on this would rival it. It simply doesnۡt. The Digitech is cheap & isnۡt built as well as the Vox (or look as cool) but itۡs all about tone to me so I think Iۡll return this & buy another Digitech, heck I could buy 2 for the price of this bad boy.

Amazing Delay!

By cloudyeyetavern

from Springfield, MO

I like to use delay a lot, and this thing has quickly become my favorite delay pedal I have. In Lo-Fi mode the repeats have a completely unobtrusive EQ. The Modern and Vintage modes are both unique enough to be useful for various applications; a real nice touch. It doesn't seem to matter what guitar or amp combination I use, the pedal just sounds better than any other delay I have! I am really stuck on this one!

Great pedal.. annoying LED

By Michael Norton

from Stockton, CA

Really full, warm tone, and great subtleties in all the options (plenty of them by the way). Well built and durable too. My problem with it is the ANNOYING green LED that flashes tempo even when the pedal is off. I'm considering covering the light with tape or just opening up the pedal and taking out the LED, but then i'd have no indicator of tempo. Basically, I just unplug the pedal when I'm not using my pedalboard.
