The best new-production AC4
Having owned all versions of this amp, I can confidently say that this is the best so far. The tone controls effect your sound more dramatically through the bigger cab and speaker. Is it an 'be-all end-all' amp? No. Does it sound great at manageable volumes? Definitely. I bought this at Guitar Center North Portland, and the fellas there are the best. Now my little Vox family is complete >:)

Not good clean sound at medium volume
I would not recommend this amp if you are looking for a good clean sound at a medium level of volume, as any gain setting past 12 o'clock will start distorting.

Enter the VOX AC4C1-12 ...The value is incredible for a portable tube amp with all the attributes you can expect from a tube driven amp with a quality 12" Celestion Speaker. Consider that it isn't a hand wired amp and it lacks a built-in reverb; however, your mileage may vary depending on your skill set and your existing axe setup. Indeed, if your chasing that "British Sound" the Vox AC4C1-12 will deliver.

This is the perfect all around amp. Easy enough to take anywhere and powerful enough to handle any situation if you mic it up. Between my Les Paul and Strat, I'm able to manage just about any tone I'm looking for. I'm considering upgrading to an alnico blue but the stock speaker still rips.

It's a good little amp, sounds good for home studio. Simple to use ,the 12 inch speaker makes a big difference over the 10 inch. Gives you a better warmer sound. 👍
Wonderful box-warm sound with accurate sound production!

Wonderful sound. 12 inch speaker and tubes to push out the warm and accurate sound. I love it. Small enough for the home, loud enough for gigs. Great choice.

I had an AC15 and it was heavy to lug around. Is this a good amp for small / cafe /club gigs? I play clean with Rickenbackers. Thanks for any advice.
