Comments about Traveler Guitar CL-3EQ Acoustic/ Electric with Gig Bag:
I'm a sucker for travel sized travel sized guitars. I'm a 5'5 guy so they're about the only guitars I can play comfortably. That being said, I fell in love with the CL-3EQ the moment I set my eyes on it. The satin finish with mahogany really compliments the hue of the headstock and it's contoured edge blends in seamlessly with with the black colored tone paired with the dark colors of the nut, saddle, and bridge pins (All which seem to be graphite). I ended up playing it at the store when I had gone to pick it up. The CL-3EQ carries a strong midrange when flat picking, but fortunately still presents the highs at a decent volume. Fingerpicking seems to bring a better balance to the overall mids, highs, and lows (at least to me). The quality of the guitar itself is subpar when compared to other travel sized guitars, but I would rank it below the "GS mini" or "Martin LX1". The wood is fairly light and feels to be on the lower end side of things. The fret markers themselves have a scrapping feel to them instead of smooth when bending notes, but that can be contributed to the fact that it just came from the factory itself.
Onto the electronics. The CL-3EQ comes in with a built in tuner to assist in properly tuning the guitar to one's own preferences. The "custom shadow pre-amp" does not lack in quality when it comes to sound. Plugged into a "fishman loudbox mini" The sound I would say is topnotch, more so than some preexisting pickups installed on other guitars. It has a treble, bass, and volume knob along with a phase button to better assist in finding your ideal tone. Perhaps the most silly part of the guitar is how it contains a headphone input alongside an aux input. I much prefer to hear the acoustic guitar itself "raw" instead of hearing it through my headphones. Their idea is to play alongside a track through a phone or some type of music player while hearing it through your headphones. Unfortunately i'm not one of those types to use those features.
