Description
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus is scaled-down in size, but offers the voice of a full-size guitar. Now available at Guitar Center, this compact acoustic-electric guitar features layered Hawaiian koa back and sides with a solid koa top. The top also features a varnish finish, which makes the solid koa top even more visually appealing. With Taylor’s top-of-the-line ES2 electronics, the Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus is the perfect fusion of portability and musicality. The Taylor GS Mini-e comes with a new AeroCase so it’s ready to go wherever the music takes you.
The Taylor GS Mini-Koa Plus features layered back and sides that incorporate three layers of wood. It features a middle core made from poplar with a veneer on each side. Aside from its exotic look, the layered wood back and sides create a durable yet responsive platform for the vibrating energy coming from the guitar’s top. Layered wood is also less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, which makes this Taylor Mini acoustic-electric a great choice for players who travel with their instruments, or are looking for a more durable instrument. The top of the GS Mini-e Koa Plus is made from solid Hawaiian koa, which produces a natural compression and yields a more controlled “rolled-in” effect to a note. The compression evens out an energetic attack for a more balanced response. The koa top produces a sound similar to mahogany, but with an extra top-end shimmer and shine. Additionally, the arched back of the guitar produces more sound from this small-bodied instrument.
Other features of the Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus include a copafera headstock overlay, Micarta “wave” saddle and NuBone nut. An AeroCase is also included.

Tonewoods That Shimmer and Shine
The Taylor GS Mini-Koa Plus features layered back and sides that incorporate three layers of wood. It features a middle core made from poplar with a veneer on each side. Aside from its exotic look, the layered wood back and sides create a durable yet responsive platform for the vibrating energy coming from the guitar’s top. Additionally, the arched back of the guitar produces more sound from this small-bodied instrument.Shorter Scale Length
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus acoustic-electric features a shorter 23-1/2” scale length. This shorter scale length makes forming chords easier, and also gives this acoustic-electric plenty of snap and tuning stability. The neck is made from mahogany and features a 20-fret genuine West African ebony fingerboard and ebony bridge.Revolutionary Taylor ES2 Electronics
The GS Mini-e Koa Plus features upgrades to Taylor’s top-of-the-line ES2 electronics. The crux of Taylor’s ES2 electronics is its patented behind-the-saddle pickup. This unique pickup design features three distinctively placed and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The pickup doesn’t sit under the saddle, so the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge. This contact allows for all the nuance of the guitar’s tone to come through clearly, whether playing acoustically or plugged-in. Combined with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, the ES2 electronics produce exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. The Taylor ES2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, and active bass and treble controls.Premium Finish and Hardware
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus features an attractive varnish finish treatment that draws out the lush visual beauty of the koa wood. Additionally, this Taylor mini acoustic-electric comes equipped with nickel tuning machines that are meticulously crafted with an 18:1 ratio to provide players with stable tuning.Other features of the Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus include a copafera headstock overlay, Micarta “wave” saddle and NuBone nut. An AeroCase is also included.
