collapse expand iconDescription

There's something undeniably inviting about the left-handed Taylor GS Mini's scaled-down size, where a single strum reveals the impressive voice of a full-size guitar. That mix of portability and musicality has proven to be a winning combination that fits into many scenarios, from the couch or the campfire to the festival stage or concert hall. It's not too big, it's not too precious and it's not too expensive. That broad-based accessibility has given it a resounding universal appeal, not to mention a built-in fun factor. The shorter 23.5" scale length makes forming chords a breeze yet also gives the instrument plenty of snap and tuning stability for a rewarding playing experience. A mahogany top delivers strong fundamentals with clear and direct focus with an arched back that generates more sound from a small-bodied instrument. A layered sapele body creates a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top and is also less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability. The acoustic-electric versions of the GS Minis include a sweet upgrade to Taylor ES2 electronics. All GS Mini models include a structured gig bag bag built by Taylor for the optimal fit.

Does the Taylor GS mini come set up with a low action?

The Taylor GS Mini typically ships with a moderate factory setup that aims to balance playability with tone and fret buzz prevention — but "low action" is somewhat subjective. Action height: Usually around 3/32" on the bass side and 2/32" on the treble side at the 12th fret. This is not considered very low, but it is lower than average compared to some other factory setups (like Martin, which tends to run higher). If you’re used to super low action, especially for fingerstyle or light strumming, you may find the GS Mini slightly on the higher side out of the box. A professional setup can easily bring it down:
