Great Sound, Small Body !

Open Box / Blemish - still can't find any blemish, maybe two tiny smudges on the back of the body, but with the satin finish they're hard to spot. The NEX body is comfortable and it really projects the sound. The action was way too high, even for a factory setup. But it was easy to get it lower and lock in the harmonics.

The Takamine GN20 is a great guitar. The natural wood matte finish is handsome. It's a baby jumbo that gives you full quality projection, with beautifully balanced tone. The cedar top and mahagony back and sides provide a depth of tone, that makes the instrument sound wonderful in performance. Your hand fits easily around the slim neck and makes playing a real pleasure. To me, it feels like a vintage Ovation guitar. I've had mine for two years, and perform with it on weekends on a regular basis. It still looks like new. The price was easy to handle. Wait for the sale price, then buy this guitar. You won't regret it.
Fantastic guitar! Everything I wanted it to be.

I mostly play electrics. I bought this guitar since it has a familiar 12" radius fingerboard. I have a hard time playing barre chords cleanly on the flatter fingerboards found on most acoustics. I'm also used to .10's on electric guitars. After playing the stock .12's for a while, I decided that I didn't want to fight so hard so I installed a set of "extra light" acoustic .10's. I was prepared to give up some volume and tone to gain easier playability, but I have not found this to be the case. I cannot perceive any reduction in volume, and honestly, the sound is just as rich and detailed as with the .12's if not more so. Maybe the cedar top on this guitar appreciates a little bit less tension? Out of the box, the action was higher than I would like. I had to tighten the truss rod and sand some material off of the bottoms of the saddles to bring it down. (The saddles were thankfully very easy to remove.) With that done, however, the action is now better than I could hope for on an acoustic. Low enough that I would expect it to buzz all over the place, but it doesn't! The guitar with the minor tweaks I've mentioned above is freaking AWESOME. It is easy to play if you're used to electrics. It sounds warm and sparkly and mellow and present. It's even pretty to look at, in an understated kind of way. I am super duper stoked about this one. This is the first acoustic guitar I've owned that I can see myself actually bonding with. If you feel comfortable performing some basic set-up tasks like I've described, I think you'll be very happy with this one.

Where is this guitar made? I've heard it was South Korea? Wondering if that's true.
