Blues man

By Stevie Guitar

from Tacoma, Wa.

I use the 8 ohm on my fender hotrod deluxe. All I have to say is sweeeet! It will affect tone somewhat but the deep and bright switches compensate very nicely and my ears aren't ringing anymore. Thank you guitar center for carrying this great product.

Hotplate I need you!

By tietjen

from Minneapolis, MN

THD Hot Plate Attenuator. I have a 50 what JMP... it needs an attenuator to get to the total thickness at low volumes. No tone coloration until it hits about -12db but it still sounds good just a little more muddy. I wish you could change the ohmage it would be nicer.

THD Hot Plate Attenuator Rocks!

By Bill Stinocher

from Davenport, Iowa

I play small venues and bars and use a Marshall JCM 900 and a 4 x 12 cabinet with green backs. The THD Hot Plate Attenuator allows me to get an awsomely creamy, rocking tone that I didn't think was possible at a suitable volume for the places I play. I had to do a few tweeks, but once I dialed it in, I don't know how I lived without it. Great product!

I can play in my apartment now.

By impressed

from Atlanta

I bought this thing because my amp was just too loud for my apartment, but I wanted the tube saturation as opposed to buying a solid state practice amp. I'm running an SG straight into an Epiphone Valve Junior (5w class A tube amp) into a Vox 1x10 cab. The sound is actually phenomenal for the price, and with the Hot Plate, I can play in my apartment w/o getting in too much trouble. It does color the sound a good bit on high attenuation, but the amp still sounds like (and more importantly) responds like a tube. Nothing is going to sound perfect but for the price I paid, this thing is certainly better than a solid state amp alone or with a pedal. No, you won't be able to play your JCM in your bedroom at 3am, but if you keep your expectations reasonable this thing won't dissappoint.

100% amazing

By marshallshredder

from nashville, tennessee

When you've had experience with a loud tube amp, you know that you can't crank it too loud depending on the environment and when you don't crank it (especially with Marshalls) you don't get the true tone. The Hotplate lets you crank the amp to 10 and turn down the dBs so that the volume is as if the amp was at 2 (or any other desired level). Not only that but it works as a direct out and a noise reducer. This product is amazing. any tube amp owner, BUY IT!!!!

Great Product

By James

from Colcord, OK

I use it with a Marshall JCM 800 (2210). This is a 100 watt head that gets really loud when hitting the sweet spot with volume. The Hot Plate, allows me to hit the sweet spot without blowing everyone away. The tonal qualities are retained and my tone is GREAT!
