Overview

The original Ditto Looper rocked guitarists with a lust for looping like nothing else. Finally something that was simple, made for guitarists and sounded great. What would possibly be better? Well, how about all of that, plus new, next level looping features forged from pure awesome?

Guitarists love Ditto Looper with its ultra-simple design and guitar-centric features like true-bypass, analog dry-through, high-quality audio, as well as 5 minutes of looping time and unlimited overdubs. Now with the Ditto Looper X2, you can do all that plus play loops in reverse, half-speed or both at the same time. This can make for a subtle performance or a jaw-dropping show that makes the audience stop dead in their tracks.

There is also a dedicated stop-button. If you have ever tried looping during a live performance then you know the importance of being able to stop the loop exactly when you want to. Ditto X2 lets you use the FX footswitch as a dedicated stop, letting you end things nice and easy.

More Freedom
Your loops are a reflection of you. So, to have them trapped in a tiny box just doesn't make any sense. Now, you are free to export your loops and work with them in a DAW of your choice, or you can import loops and even backing tracks to and take them to gigs.

StarJam and JamTrackCentral
So, what's cooler than looping? Looping with the stars! StarJam allows you to do just that! TC Electronic collaborated with a stable of super guitarists and bassists, including Steven Morse, Divinity Roxx, Guthrie Govan, Steve Stevens, Paul Gilbert and more providing you with loops for practice, inspiration and having fun - free of charge. TC Electronic also collaborated with JamTrackCentral to give you a package of some of the best backing tracks available. The tracks are expertly recorded, feature solos by top guitarists and - best of all - they're free of charge when you buy a Ditto X2.

Features

  • Made by guitarists for guitarists

It is now an essential part of my performance. I am a solo acoustic singer/guitar player that frequently uses looping. Because there's two essentially independent mono channels, I use the left for guitar and the right for voice. It is a little cumbersome converting balanced to unbalanced and back using inline transformers, but it works. I mounted a separate A/B switch to either add or cut the vocal loop to mix into the live vocal path. After a little tweaking of gain structure between live and looped vocal, I have a great performance tool. The the dynamic range of the Ditto is wide enough to accommodate the guitar (hot) and the vocal (cool) without going into hiss or digital distortion on either.

When I first bought this pedal, I instantly fell in love. It did everything I wanted and more. I can't explain how tremendously this thing has helped me write new ideas and arrangements, and build on my own improvisational skills. My best friend invested more money and bought a $500 looper pedal from pigtronix, and he said he was more impressed with the sound quality of my ditto lol. It all seemed like a dream come true, but I used it so profusely that eventually the button got worn out. A problem that is probably fixable but disappointing nonetheless. If the button doesn't respond when you mash it, it defeats the whole purpose of the pedal, since timing is everything with it. If they had used a nice durable footswitch like the ones on the boss pedals instead of the cheesy clicking buttons I would say it would have been a perfect 10. Unfortunately, in the future I might just stick with boss just to avoid this problem from ever happening during a live situation. PS the reverse effect is really awesome too, its also helped with ideas and adding ambiance. The half speed effect I haven't found a valid use for but its nice to know its there ha.

Excellent, simplistic looper

By cory m

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

I liked the original Ditto but for live situations you really need the ability to stop the loop immediately and in time, without double-clicking the pedal. This new version does that, with the addition of the stop/fx button. Probably won't be using the effects, but the stop button is worth the upgrade. Solid construction, no loss of tone, functional layout and design, TC reliability.

RECOMENDED!

By ERIC Dahl

from Pasadena Texas

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

This is an awesome pedal. I just got it today and I am loving it! It is easy to use, perfect for practice and performance. And the reverse loop is absolutely fun! Unlike my other effect pedals, it does not create a buzzing sound in the amp while plugged in. I am still getting the timing down, but practice makes perfect. I recommend this pedal to everyone who can play both rhythm and solos to all your favorite songs.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

You step on the left button, play, step on the left button again and whatever you play gets looped. Loop length 5 minutes maximum with infinite overdubs. Loops are transferable via USB cable. Great songwriting tool especially for solos. A great pedal, useful for guitarists of all skills and styles. The only cons I have for it is loop sound quality can be a little bit better but otherwise stellar pedal.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

I got this to practice with. It did great on the first two times, I set it up to use a month latter and the unit recorded a half bar and would not do anymore. I had no sound from the guitar to amp. It would not erase or reset. I enjoyed it while it was doing right. Will try and see if I can return it for another at Guitar Center.

Bought this for my son who is a pro bass player. He loved my little Ditto and I thought he may like the X2 for writing new songs with the band. He found it difficult to use and to chose or delete tracks. He traded it in promptly for the original Ditto.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

I bought this looper to use during live shows to play rhythm during solos. Your timing must be spot on however! It is a great tool to use for practice! I will probably not use the FX though. The indicator lights need to be relocated so that your foot does not cover them up.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper Effects Pedal:

I recently purchased the Boss RC 1 and returned it primarily because of the need to double tap the pedal to stop the loop. I found this annoying, especially in a live application. Your timing has to be perfect and for first time "loopers" this can be a challenge. I traded this unit in for the Ditto X 2. This unit provides very good sound replication of my acoustic guitar and has a dedicated Stop function which makes transitioning from your recorded loop ( accompanied by your lead) back to your live rhythm a seamless process. If only for this function it is worth the money. You still have the ability to overdub as you do with the Boss unit but it also adds a few cool effects when placed in the effects mode. If you are considering a loop pedal for the first time, strong consider the Ditto X2. It versatile, simple, and quality made.
