Heavy sound, light weight

Comments about TC Electronic BG250-210 250W 2x10 Bass Combo with 2 TonePrint Slots:

Ive played and owned several combos and stacks in my 30 years of playing. Ampeg, trace Elliot, Peavey mega bass, crate.. Just too name a few. Ther is not another amp on the market that is as versatile as this amp... no where. I play my 6 string Ibanez, as well as my 4 string Ibanez.great tones! the dirty is there if you want a nasty walking bassline tone, or, you can have a nice slap and pop tone and never have to add any pedals. This is hands down the best amp i have ever owned.

Comments about TC Electronic BG250-210 250W 2x10 Bass Combo with 2 TonePrint Slots:

The amp was great for about 2 months. Then it started rattling and crackling. Had to send to TC to fix because no local techs in Milwaukee would touch TC stuff due to their Tone Print components and proprietary parts (which happen to be unreasonably priced too). Anyway, got TC to waive everything but shipping costs as it was under warranty.

Fast forward a year - amp suddenly won't power on. TC wants S200-275 to ship it out and for parts and labor. The amp is S360 new, you do the math. Tried to source the repair locally and order the part myself. The part is still over $100 with shipping, then another $50 for the dude to crack it open.

This amp is made poorly, and doesn't cut it. TC Electronic and their "proprietary tech" is a con job. I used the Tone Print like twice. Not worth it. Save for a better amp. You have been warned, even if the weight and price-point is tempting.

Comments about TC Electronic BG250-210 250W 2x10 Bass Combo with 2 TonePrint Slots:

Light weight, sounded great. Bought in October and used a few times, never gigged. Its a few weeks after Guitar Centers 45 day return policy and the speakers are putting out a strange noise/crackling intermittently. This is at low volume with multiple cables and basses tested. TC Electronics contact number is out of service. After reading the warranty information I have to pay to ship this both ways, which would run me about $100 total. Thats 25% of the original price of the entire amp. After more research on the web I keep running into people saying how they send off the amp to get repaired and nothing is done. So even sending it in for repair is risky. At this point it looks like I am SOL.

          Came in broke........but

Comments about TC Electronic BG250-210 250W 2x10 Bass Combo with 2 TonePrint Slots:

First off, I own the smaller BG250-112 and just love it. When I first got the 210 open I plugged it in and hit the mute switch and knew there was a problem. It was loose and wiggly and didn't work but 3 out of 10 times. Flipping the amp over the plastic cap fell out the hole and you could see that the cap was broken, probably when it was installed. A quick call to TC Electronic and one was in the mail, three days later the cap and a spare cap(thanks) came in and went right on. The amp now is perfect and works great. Hats off to TC for great customer care and GC for a great deal on the big BG. Big bottom, very light, and all the tone print and other features I love about the 112 model. All's well that ends well!

Comments about TC Electronic BG250-210 250W 2x10 Bass Combo with 2 TonePrint Slots:

if you use this combo you will need to solder the wires to the back of the speakers, I dont understand why a company making a bass guitar cabinet would use spade terminal connectors in the combo ? the combo is fantastic and produces a lot of great quality bass, so there will be a lot of vibration in the combo, no way spade terminals can hold up for long without becoming loose and starting to make scratchy sounds when a bass note is played as the spade terminals are vibrated all over the place and can become loose and make scratching sounds while playing. I removed the spade terminals and soldered all my connections (15 minutes) now this combo has great tone is light gets loud and is flawless in its delivery of quality sound.... no more scratchy scratchy... (imo soldering should have been done during manufacture) almost gave 4 stars because of this issue,so again, if you use this combo you will need to solder the wires to the back of the speakers or eventually the combo will start to make lots of scratchy sounds (loose wire connections vibrating) once you solder them, the combo is very hard to beat at any price, as a portable killer sounding bass combo.
