When I heard my nephew wanted to learn to play guitar like his uncle Pete, I was thrilled. When I heard his mom was looking at guitars for Christmas at a national chain toystore, I knew I had to step in. He wanted one like mine (a strat) so I looked on the website and saw this one on sale. He lives about 1200 miles from me, so the free shipping was awesome and I knew Guitar Center would take care of him if anything wasn't right (everything was). The cell phone video of him unwrapping the guitar is worth about a million times what I paid for it. The red sparkle finish looked top notch in my local guitar center and they way he looked at it let me know he felt the same way. I also sent him a Guitar Center gift card so that he can get a set up done on it and I'm hoping while he's there he'll check out getting some lessons. He's 10 and I'm hoping this is the beginning for him of the same lifelong love affair with the guitar that I have enjoyed. Plus, he won't shoot his eye out!

Ordered the l.e. Bullet Strat from G.C. and it arrived at my home in 3 days. Nicely boxed and packaged. I got the guitar out and was surprised and impressed with the outstanding red sparkle flake paint job on this guitar. Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The fret edges were jagged and sharp, had not been dressed, just snipped off. The tuning keys were sloppy enough to make it difficult to keep the guitar in tune, which it didn't seem to do. It needed set up. Had fret buzz on one side, Pick ups needed height adjustment, intonation was off, and it didn't sound very good at all. I put it back in the box and returned it to G.C. I gave it 2 stars for the paint job.

Comments about Squier Limited Edition Bullet Strat SSS with Tremolo:

I am a retired musician and I have owned a few strats over the years. Usually another musician liked the way mine sounded and wanted it so I sold it to them or traded them for something. I studied under a luthier so I knew how to set up a guitar to get the best sound out of them. None that I owned had such a fancy paint job as this one! It plays just fine and sound very nice. I will probably do lots of modifications over the years and some other musician will probably want it. I already have some different parts for it that I will in my spare time install to improve looks and sound. I am pleased.

I got the Michel mb300 modern rock bass as my first bass and didn't get an amp until I had enough money and when I played the bass with the amp the basses pickups would only here a high pitched ringing. not trying to give a bad name to GC they have great service and all their employees are incredibly nice but it could have just been my bass that was messed up.

Comments about Squier Limited Edition Bullet Strat SSS with Tremolo:

Played a couple of these at a few locations and the quality of workmanship and tone rings true. I would change in this guitar would be the tuners, Schaller or Grover's, will make this guitar class A, the nut is plastic but add some #2 pencil graphite and you will be good to go. There is no need to change pickups or anything else IMO.
"This is NOT the C Modern profile neck" it is the C profile neck and it's a little thick at the nut and has a very awesome feel, the right guitar neck will "Greatly" help your technique and will help you play comfortably and you should improve from day to day. With the right neck your fingers will grab the strings in the right position and land in the right spots.
        Volume Pots and Tone
There is a noticeable wide variety of tone differences and clarity between the pickups. When you roll back the volume you don't have a huge drop in the treble frequency, this guitar has a nice "Clean Up"
Some setup tips: Do at your own risk, sorry disclaimer.
Add the extra spring that comes with it or get another for the tremolo.
Float the bridge a little so that you can pull back on the tremolo.
Get quality tuners, it will be worth every penny.
Use gun oil on every part where there is metal to metal contact, springs, tremolo screws, strings saddles.
        Thanks have a great day!

Well built guitar by fender! Sounds great , looks sweet. My research leads me to believe that this is one of the top 3 starter guitars. In my opinion it's #1 of the top 3. Trust me l did a lot of research. It looks, feel, plays and sounds like a more expensive guitar then I paid

          It's a Squire and that's not a bad thing.

          By Zggyk400

Comments about Squier Limited Edition Bullet Strat SSS with Tremolo:

I bought this guitar because it was on sale. Let's just forget the sparkle red paint (I returned it because I couldn't handle the ugly). There are over a million opinions of the "bullet strat" online but don't listen to them. This is a great guitar to learn on. Not only does it look like a Stratocaster but it really does have the character of one too. This guitar is well worth the money. In my opinion a cheap Squire is closer to an expensive Fender than a cheap Epiphone is to a real Gibson. Play this guitar till your fingers bleed then upgrade. Simple as that. Great guit for the money.
