Comments about Squier Contemporary Stratocaster HSS Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar online purely on specs, particularly it having a 12" neck radius and jumbo frets. I was not too concerned about the pickups since I usually replace them anyway. When the guitar arrived I was disappointed to find that the frets were not jumbo, as advertised. They are medium at best. Outside of that aspect the guitar was set up well and only required minimum intonation tweaking. The frets were well dressed and smooth. The pickups sounded fine at this price point. The guitar plays well and is a great value. It's a great platform for mods.

Comments about Squier Contemporary Stratocaster HSS Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because of the color and how it sounded and played. You'll want to buy a new output jack as it became loose and the connection became poor after a couple months, some locking tuners, and maybe a bridge. Other than that it sounds great for the price. It's a copy of what Fender tried to do to copy Charvel (before they bought them) in the 80s. I wish there were more tonal options from a second knob, but it doesn't make it less fun to play. It's also a full sized strat and that means you can more easily use Fender parts with minor or no modifications.

The tone is surprisingly good considering what I expected from this price point. The parts I replaced so far were the bridge, output jack, tuners, string trees, and strap buttons (for locks).
