Squier

collapse expand iconDescription

Squier has taken their ubiquitous Telecaster and created a vintage-inspired baritone model for players craving a heavier, lower sound. The Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster features a 27" maple neck and Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups for full, resonant tone.

Baritone Scale Unlocks Lower Registers

The extended 27" scale length provides the lower tuning needed for baritone range. Players can explore rumbling lows and heavy riffs not possible on a standard guitar. The baritone scale and alnico pickups are a visionary combination, yielding a voice that blends vintage style with modern versatility.

Slim, Fast Neck Plays With Ease

A slim "C"-shaped neck profile and 9.5" laurel fingerboard make the Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster comfortable and accessible. Narrow-tall frets provide a smooth playing feel across the 21 frets. The neck's vintage tint gloss finish reinforces the retro vibe of this innovative instrument.

Vintage Bridge Anchors Resonant Tone

A vintage-style Telecaster bridge with chrome barrel saddles produces dynamic, resonant tone. The string-through-body design enhances sustain and articulation. Paired with the baritone scale and alnico pickups, the 3-Saddle Vintage-Style Strings-Through-Body with Chrome Barrel Saddle bridge helps the Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster achieve a range of tones from vintage warmth to modern edge.

Iconic Style With Modern Voice

Double binding and nickel hardware give the Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster '60s-inspired style. At the same time, the extended scale length and alnico pickups provide a contemporary baritone voice, demonstrating how Squier artfully blends vintage design and modern innovation.

Sweet baritone guitar from Squire

The Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster 3-Color Sunburst is light in weight, has a great feeling maple neck, nice electronics hardware, and decent tuners that stay in tune. Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups sound good, but the neck single coil is too quiet and somewhat muffled, which is why my review is 4 stars. I'll probably get a hotter neck pickup for this baritone. V+T pots are smooth, three-way switch is silent, output jack seems sturdy. The 3-saddle Tele bridge has minor intonation issues like most every 3-saddle Tele bridge, but the steel saddles give the strings a lot of nice twang. The 3-color sunburst looks quite a bit darker in real life than it does in online photos. The double binding on the body is a very tasty feature. It's a lot of guitar for not much money, and you'll be inspired by the lower range voice of this baritone guitar.

Wrong strings installed!

My Classic Vibe Baritone Telecaster was delivered with the wrong gauge strings installed. String diameters ranged from .008" to .042", whereas Fender's own website lists the proper sizes as .014" to .068". Given the initialed inspection card, it's hard to imagine how such a fundamental error could have been overlooked! Since I prefer to perform a proper setup (using fresh strings) whenever I purchase a new guitar, replacing a set of strings is no big deal. Predictably, the truss rod needed adjustment with the increased tension of the proper strings, but that also is of no consequence since it is often necessary on any new guitar. I am, however, experiencing persistent troubles with tuning stability, and I'm concerned that there might be slight damage to one or more of the nut slots. This could require a new nut to be cut - that's not such a quick or inexpensive remedy. Otherwise, the guitar seems OK, but the real problem is that such a fundamental oversight makes me doubt the brand. There are many competitors with very good guitars at (or below) the price range of this product. I recently purchased two Harley Benton guitars (also made in Indonesia, but less than half the price) that had no such problems - ready to play right out of the box. Just sayin'...

I bought the sunburst finish version of this guitar and love it. Replaced the strings and performed a rudimentary intonation, the guitar required no other adjustments. Classic Vibe Squiers are some of the best guitars for the money, and this baritone was everything I expected. I tuned this to open D (A) and this guitar sings, has really opened my mind to how to play guitar in a new way. #sweepstakes

This 2022 Squier CV Baritone "Custom" Telecaster plays very well, but needed to be dialed in a bit to get the action and intonation relief in a good place. Fender-designed CV SP Pickups are ok, but not great. Definitely a little muddy and generic sounding, which can be easily remedied if I drop some extra coin on higher-end pickups. Fit and finish looks fantastic, love a double bound Tele. Neck is comfortable with no rough edges or fret sprout. The neck finish is a bit too glossy but isn't particularly sticky. Old style tuners seem to work fine. I'd like install a more modern 6-saddle bridge so I could dial in the intonation. Great value for a very nice instrument.

The specs section for Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster Electric Guitar 3-Color Sunburst Item #:1500000365673 says Case Sold Separately. Is there a specific case made by Squier for this baritone guitar? I didn't know if it would fit in a standard case due to its 27" scale.

They, as of yet, do not make a specific case. Please see "Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case". This will do.
