Lake Placid Blue Squier Affinity Strat 2013 edition- Excellent Beginner guitar

By ERIC MARSHALL

from Ohio

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

I am a beginner guitar player, and have been looking for my first electric guitar to settle with and learn on. I originally got the Vintage Sunburst Squier strat, and at first was satisfied, until I had it home for about a week and noticed four frets in a row, appeared to be worn down on the ends.(It was as if they were ground down lower than the other frets). After having to return my first guitar I didn't want to see that, but I couldn't ignore it, so I reluctantly had to return that one also. So, finally, when I was at the store returning my second guitar, I had the employee order a 2013 Lake Placid Blue Squier Affinity Strat shipped direct from the distribution center to my house. It arrived in about three days in Excellent New condition. Now, this guitar is ultimately what I wanted my beginner electric guitar to be. The fit and finish is excellent for the price, the tuners do their task well, it stays in tune for days instead of hours, and even when I have to tune it, it isn't off by much. The neck is smooth and appears high quality, there are no issues with the frets on this one, the tone is what I wanted for my practice guitar. I can get a good clean tone, which is what I wanted to learn on. I have heard other guitar players who are way more experienced than I play this, and I know what it is capable of when I progress through my guitar learning. Hopefully this review is helpful to others looking for a decent inexpensive, electric guitar.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

Purchased this for my child. Their 1st electric guitar. I was amazed at the quality. I had purchased a Squier back in 1984 and it is still going strong. This one matches it. Not a single complaint. Stays in tune. Action is great. Of course, back in the day it came with a case, which this had to be purchased separately.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

Playing for 40 years never had a Stratocaster, I have a custom 68 Telecaster, Gibson Les Paul, a 335, an SG plus others but I've wanted a Stratocaster for a while. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I decided to buy a Squire to see how I would like the guitar. I bought this Affinity because it's body is made from Alder like it's more expensive American make version, not Basswood like most of the rest of the Squire line. The guitar looks and sounds great I like the satin finish on the neck it feel smooth to play. Even though it sounds great I'm still going to put in a set of Fender Custom Shop Fat 50's for $200. That will give me the Alder body with Fat 50's like the American version for a lot less money.

I needed a strat in the arsenal without spending a ton of money, I mostly play Gibsons. This was money well spent. Gorgeous guitar with great tones. I may upgrade pickups and tuners some day, but for the price, this guitar is perfect.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

The last time I picked up a guitar was some time back in high school, so I was looking for something not too expensive, but still a quality beginner guitar and this Squier does not disappoint. It's the beautiful surf green color with the rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is easy to play, which makes learning bar chords again not too terrible, and everything from the neck to the bridge was flawless out of the box. I would highly recommend this guitar for someone who is just getting started, or for someone who wants a budget guitar to travel with. You will not be disappointed.

Better than my last guitar (maestro by gibson)
I'm not a pro,I think I got the right guitar for the right newbie.
It stays in tune for long periods of time.
The color is perfect (surf green)
I think the guitar is better than a epiphone Les PaulSpecial

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

I really love this guitar! The one I got was the race red and I absolutely love the finish, the guitar itself plays really well and the neck is really smooth and it goes great with my champion 20 amp. The only con is that it has some fret buzzing but that can probably be fixed with the built in truss rod but if not, it doesn't really bother me at all and it doesn't effect my playing. I highly recommend this guitar for beginners and intermediate players.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:

My father had bought me this awful instrument when I was at the age of fourteen in the year of 2001in spite of the kind of experience he had as a musician in World Beat music.

Financial costs are never a factor if you are a musician.

If you even consider purchasing an ELECTRIC GUITAR for a friend or relative, KNOW WHAT HE/SHE WANTS TO DO FIRST.

Seventeen years of playing the guitar I strongly advise to purchase none other than an Epiphone G-1275 with a Vox AC15C1 Amplifier for a friend or family member if he/she just wants to be an "amateur" musician. Period
