Description

The new Simmons Titan 20 delivers great playing feel, a collection of powerful drum sounds, Bluetooth and MIDI connectivity, a USB output for recording to your favorite DAW and a free Simmons app that provides training tools and other goodies. Since the company’s groundbreaking ’80s kits, Simmons has continued to innovate and evolve the technology, ergonomics and sounds of their electronic drums, making the Titan 20 an excellent kit for beginners, students, hobbyists and anyone looking for a fun and easy way to start drumming.

Titan 20 Pad Set

Perfect Pads

The Titan 20 provides a comfortable playing experience—a key advantage for beginners and students developing their drum strokes and dynamics during home practice sessions. The Titan 20 starts with a dual-zone 8" mesh snare pad with rim-shot detection, three 8" mesh toms with low-profile rims and a kick pedal with variable dynamics. All of the mesh heads are dual layer for durability and an accurate, acoustic-drum feel. The cymbal essentials are covered with 10" pads for hi-hats (with closed, mid and open sounds), a ride and a crash.

Titan 20 Rack

Rock-Solid Rack

Many rock drummers like to hit the drums hard—like Travis Barker hard. This isn’t typically a problem on acoustic kits, but on an electronic kit with the drum pads clamped to a round tube, power drummers can easily smack the pads off-kilter. In many cases, this can mean stopping your practice session, and resetting the pads to their proper positions. Bummer. But this is a scenario you won’t have to worry about with the Titan 20. The pioneering steel, full-sized rack includes hex-shaped beams and adjustable clamps that prevent slippage and keep the pads set at their preferrable positions—even under extreme pummeling. The rack allows ample space for the Titan 20 control module, and also includes a detachable tablet/mobile phone shelf to accommodate editing via the Simmons app.

Titan 20 Connections

Comprehensive Connectivity

The Titan 20 gives beginners and students a bevy of input and output options for learning, practicing, recording and performing. Bluetooth audio capability lets you wirelessly stream your favorite music and play along with songs and online videos that will inspire you and help improve your chops. There’s also a 1/8" stereo AUX input for your wired playback devices. For editing sounds, you can use the Simmons app, other compatible music and drum apps, or MIDI control. The Simmons app also includes play-along, practice and training tools. Laying down drums on recordings is a snap, as the onboard USB jack offers seamless connection to DAWs and other music software. A 1/8" headphone output is provided for private practicing when others may not appreciate hearing your drum-solo workouts, and stereo 1/4" line outputs let you plug the Titan 20 into a sound system when you want to jam with friends.

Titan 20 Connections

Electronic Euphoria

Because the Simmons Titan 20 is an electronic kit, you can practice almost “noiselessly” by monitoring the kit’s sounds and through headphones. You never have to worry about disturbing family members and friends with your practice sessions—players of acoustic drums aren’t so lucky—and if you’re working out a tricky fill, you don’t have to be embarrassed by multiple attempts, because no one can hear what’s going on except you. The affordable Titan 20 is also a great kit for guitarists, bassists, vocalists and keyboardists who want to “have a go” at percussive fun without breaking the bank on a new instrument. The Titan 20 was designed with new and enthusiastic players in mind, because its easy set-up, kit selection and app-based learning and practicing tools keep the focus on diving right in and playing.

Titan 20 Sound Library

All-New Sound Library

Simmons committed to making the Titan 20 not only the best-sounding electronic drum set the company has ever produced—quite a goal, considering the Simmons sound defined an entire era of percussion—but also to produce one of the premier sample libraries available anywhere. The all-new sounds were sampled from the ground up in a large commercial recording studio to ensure ultimate realism, sonic impact and dynamic expression and sensitivity. When you sit down to play the Titan 20, the drum sounds will deliver the same inspiring punch and resonance as you hear on music tracks by your favorite artists. The totally reengineered Titan 20 sample library includes 10 drum presets, as well as a space for one user-constructed kit.
