Seymour Duncan
Description
Seymour Duncan's SH-2 Jazz Model neck humbucker pickup is for players who need an accurate, clear tone for fast jazz runs. The brighter sound has slightly less output and is a good match with most pickups. A popular combination is The Jazz in the neck with either a JB SH-4 or Duncan Custom SH-5 in the bridge.

The covers are built from the same materials as the original covered humbuckers designed by Seth Lover five decades ago. Unlike their predecessors however, the hand-built Classic Covers are double wax-potted for squeal-free performance and the elimination of microphonics and feedback.

Bought this pickup to replace a neck pickup that had gone bad on me. It's really clean, low noise, and the articulation of the notes is a huge improvement over the previous pickup. It's also a LOT louder and took a little getting used to with the tone and volume to get the sound right, but it is a really versatile pickup.

Ok. If you re reading this review, you re probably in the same situation I was a month ago. Just browsing endlessly through catalogs, youtube videos and sound samples, trying to find the right pickup, afraid of messing up and ending up with a bitter taste in your mouth. And you ve probably went through all the technical talk about EQ, tightness, brightness, quality and such. Well, this is the other type of stuff that you need to know: -As soon as you try it for the first time, you know that the pickup is up to something. -Then, you discover that when you play around with the volume and tone, it doesn't just fade away, or turn into mud .. now you know that you have a plethora of sound combinations and delights, and you cant help giggling like a girl. -Then, you feel how responsive the humbucker is to picking and finger technique, and the voice and true tone of your guitar comes to life. - During all the previous, you felt that tingling sensation that you were looking for, and a smile of success knowing that you spent your money well, and that you have a world of tonal possibilities in your hands. Bottom line: You want to feel that electric/vibrating sensation of joy through your arms and body, you owe to yourself. Get some Seymour Duncans. PS: Paired it with a SD custom in the bridge. Perfect blend, they cover a HUGE spectrum of sounds. Mahogany body/maple neck is a big YES.
