I love the way the notes jump off the spruce top. It's got that bell like dreadnought tone that will only improve with age. I can find no fault with the construction.the wide neck and finger board are an acquired taste. If you like it, you'll love it. If you don't, you'll never be happy with it. Where else can you find a decent quality, all solid wood, made in North America guitar for less than a grand? Seagull's TRIC cases, to me leave a lot to be desired. I bought a Fender Tweed Dreadnought case and it works perfectly. Planet Waves Humidifier and you're in business.

This is a bad guitar center review not a seagull review.

Missing battery door and screws rusted on door, extremely dissapointed with guitar center for this. On the flip side seagull makes amazing guitars and are sending me a free replacement door.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great sounding guitar. Not my first Seagull and won't be my last. Solid wood and quality at this price can't be beat. Played this and a few others at GC looking for my next acoustic and selected another guitar. The other guitar sounded fine but this one was stuck in my head and I swapped for it the next day. Sounds great plugged in also. You won't regret picking this up.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been in the market for a long while and I tend to over research purchases like this. I've played probably over a dozen brands (and multiple guitars in each brand) at a number of price points ($400-$1500). I rejected guitar after guitar until this solid wood dread and I'm so glad I bought it. It is, simply put, the nicest guitar I've ever owned. I challenge anyone to put it up against similar acoustics in the $1000-$1500 range. This baby will win, hands down.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Very happy with all aspects of the purchase. I took advantage of a terrific price drop and was able to upgrade to a much nicer guitar at an affordable price. The process was easy and problem free. The Seagull Maritime Dreadnought has a beautiful sound and is very comfortable to play. Now I need to develop enough talent to justify owning a guitar of this quality.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I searched high and low for guitars with a wide nut due to my large hands. Warmoth offers a 1.8" super wide strat neck and I love that. I found this after. Taylor also makes a wider neck as an option. Good luck finding one.

In my preliminary research into Seagull, I found a YouTube video of a factory tour. Very insightful and inspiring. While they use a lot of automation,
many expert craftsman provide a lot of hands on quality control and participation in the incredibly accurate build process. The necks are said to be bolt on which is true but they are glued on as they should be while the bolts simply hold it in place as the glue sets. The overall precise exacting process is something to behold.

There are some nice sounding dreadnaughts, and I've tried many of the best. This is a fine guitar. I immediately changed the used (it was a demo) strings to Elixir 80/20 poly lights. Nice.

The grain and finish of the instrument is fantastic.

              This is a keeper.

This instrument has a rosewood fretboard. The new ones have a black composite which I don't appreciate at some level. Rosewood is hard to come by apparently and Ininderstand the direction.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

By far the best bang for the buck. All wood construction sounds beautiful Its so hard to put down. I obsessively researched all guitars under $800 and nothing compared to the seagul.

I have small hands so getting used to the nut with took some time for me. . Other than that I'm thrilled with my purchase and would do it all again.

Comments about Seagull 33454 Maritime Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My goal was to find a versatile cutaway acoustic-electric, and this guitar fit the bill. After comparing this to many high priced guitars, including Martins and Taylors costing thousands of dollars, I was a bit bewildered at their respective price-points. I cannot find anything that those aforementioned guitars offer that this doesn't. The mahogany and spruce provide a wide range of sound from high to lows, and the all-solid wood body and top gives great resonance and sustain. I can find no flaws in the construction. Seagulls might not be flashy, but dang they play great.

This an Update on this product after over 100 hours playing it. This guitar has really opened up , it sounded good when i purchased but the sound has changed some and its for the better. This has become my go to guitar and i play it everyday. My S6 hasnt been touched since got this guitar. Zero problems with the construction of this guitar , i def have put a lot of time on it and carried around with me. it is very well built. The top is also changed color a little bit, from that whitish tan to a more soft yellow color, could be from the smoke filled garge i play in or the indirect sunlight from where it sits in my dining room, or both, not sure but like the change. Ill never get rid of this guitar.
